Lady Flourish’s POV

The moment I saw Lydia standing at the end of the corridor, my wolf surged so violently that my vision sharpened and every sound around me became painfully clear.
I could hear Damian’s breathing beside me, Phina shifting her weight, Harold speaking quietly into his phone, and the dozens of wolves ahead scraping their claws against the floor.
Lydia smiled. “Flourish.”
I stared at her. “Where is Mira?”
“Alive.”
“Let me see her.”
“Not yet.”
My claws extended on their own. “You have no right.”
Lydia’s smile faded. “You still don’t understand what you are.”
“I understand enough.”
“No,” she said, her eyes moving slowly over me. “You understand what people have told you.”
Damian stepped forward. “Enough.”
Lydia looked at him. “You should not have come.”
“I go wherever my mate goes.”
Her expression tightened. “That bond will be your weakness.”
I moved closer to Damian, and his hand found mine. Lydia noticed immediately.
“How touching.”
My wolf growled. “Bring Mira out.”
Lydia raised one hand, and two wolves dragged Mira from a side corridor. My heart stopped. She was conscious, but blood covered one side of her face and her hands were bound tightly behind her back.

“Mira.”
She looked at me, her voice hoarse. “Lady Flourish, don’t.”
Lydia laughed softly. “She is loyal.”
I stepped forward. “Let her go.”
“Open the archive.”
I looked toward the enormous metal door behind Lydia. “What is inside?”
“Your inheritance.”

Damian’s fingers tightened around mine as Lydia continued. “The Voss bloodline existed long before Stonehedge, and your mother was one of its strongest heirs.”
“Then why did she hide me?”
“Because she knew what I would do.”
I stared at her. “You killed her.”
Her expression changed. “Your mother chose her own fate.”
My wolf snarled. “You poisoned her.”
“She refused to cooperate.”
I stepped forward again, but Damian caught my arm. “Don’t.”
I looked past him at Lydia. “Why did you marry my father?”
She smiled thinly. “Garret was useful.”
The answer made my stomach turn. “He loved you.”
“I never loved him.”
“Then why stay?”
“Because he gave me access to you.”
My wolf surged again. “You raised me.”
“Exactly. I watched you grow,” she said, her eyes going colder still.

Chapter 192 The Voss Guardian
I could barely breathe. “You were never my family.”
“I was the person closest to you.”
“You lied.”
“Of course.”
Damian moved beside me. “Flourish, don’t let her control your emotions.”
Lydia looked at him instead. “Your bond is stronger than I expected.”
I turned toward her. “What do you mean?”
“Your wolf is already responding to his,” she said.
My chest tightened. “Why does that matter?”
“Because the archive can detect the strongest bonds.”
Caelan stepped forward then. “Lydia.”
She looked at him with something almost like satisfaction. “You finally came.”
His eyes flashed gold. “You will not touch my daughter.”
Lydia laughed. “You abandoned her.”
“I protected her.”
“You hid.”
“I survived.”

The tension between them changed the entire room, and my wolf recognized something in it that wasn’t hatred alone. It was history.
“How do you know each other?” I asked.
Caelan looked at me. “She was part of the group that hunted me.”
Lydia’s smile disappeared. “You were always too weak to understand what the Voss bloodline could become.”
“You wanted control,” Caelan said.
“I wanted survival.”

“You wanted power.”
“Power keeps families alive.”
My wolf reacted sharply to that. “You killed my mother for power.”
Lydia’s expression hardened. “I killed her because she refused to give you to me.”
Silence fell over the corridor.
I stared at her. “What?”
“Your mother knew what you carried,” she said. “She knew your ability could suppress other wolves, and she knew I wanted it.”
I looked toward the archive. “Then the ritual can transfer it.”
“Yes.”
Damian stepped in front of me. “You won’t touch her.”
Lydia only smiled. “We’ll see.”
She nodded toward the wolves, and they attacked all at once. Everything happened in a blur after that.
Damian shifted beside me, Caelan shifted just as fast, and Phina moved toward Mira while I let my own wolf take over completely.
My bones shifted beneath my skin, claws tearing through the fabric of my sleeves as my wolf emerged fully.
The first guardian lunged at me, but I moved beneath its claws and struck its chest hard enough to send it back.
Another attacked from the side, and I turned and caught its throat before throwing it against the wall.
Damian fought three at once, his movements controlled and brutal. Phina reached Mira and knelt beside her. “Hold still.”
