My wolf was already pushing against my skin, reacting to the fear in Flourish’s scent and the distant trace of Mira’s blood that still lingered through the phone connection.

Flourish lowered the phone slowly. “She has Mira.”

“I heard.”

“She wants me alone.”

“No.”

Her eyes snapped toward me. “Damian.”

“She’ll kill Mira if you follow me.”

I stepped closer and lowered my voice. “Then we find another

way.”

Her hands trembled despite the determination in her face. “She knows exactly how to control me.”

I reached for her hand. “Then let me help you control the situation.”

Her fingers tightened around mine. “I can’t lose Mira.”

“You don’t know that.”

Flourish looked at him. “She has every reason to believe I’ll come.”
