Alpha Damian’s POV
I had never experienced my wolf this angry before. The moment Flourish disappeared, every instinct inside me demanded that I find her, and I followed the faintest trace of her scent through the corridors beneath Midnight Society.
Her scent had been mixed with wolfsbane, but there was still enough of it left for my track.
“Spread out,” I said, my voice carrying across the hall.
wolf to
The Stonehedge warriors obeyed immediately, shifting into their wolf forms and spreading through the building. I followed Flourish’s scent toward the eastern corridor, my claws already pressing through my fingertips, when Rhys caught up to me.
“Alpha Damian.”
I turned. “What?”
He looked tense. “We found something.” He handed me a small device. “It was connected to the system that accessed F-Tech.”
I examined it. “Where did you find it?”
“Near the service entrance.”
My jaw tightened. Someone had planned the entire operation carefully. They had used Ragnar’s credentials, entered F-Tech remotely, disappeared from headquarters, and then infiltrated a wedding filled with Alphas and warriors.
Flourish hadn’t been taken at random. She had been the target from the very beginning.
“Lock down the building.”
Rhys nodded. “No one leaves.”
I turned back toward the corridor, and then I felt it. Her fear, coming through the bond so suddenly that my wolf nearly broke through completely. Flourish was alive. She was afraid. But she was fighting.
My chest tightened. “Hold on,” I whispered, and started running.
The corridor ended at a reinforced door, with two warriors already standing guard outside it. One of them looked at me. “Alpha, we heard movement inside.”

I didn’t wait. I shifted halfway, drove my shoulder into the door, and broke the lock. The smell of wolfsbane hit me immediately, and then I heard her.
“Damian!”
My wolf roared, and I entered the room. A warrior lunged toward me, but I caught him by the throat and threw him across the floor.
Another man tried to escape through the rear entrance, but two Stonehedge wolves tackled him before he reached it.
Then I saw her. Flourish was tied to a chair, and my anger nearly blinded me. I crossed the room in seconds and dropped down beside her.
“Are you hurt?”
She shook her head. “I’m fine,” she said, though her voice trembled despite the words.
I cut through the ropes and pulled her against my chest immediately. For several seconds neither of us spoke, and I felt her hands grip the back of my shirt. My wolf finally settled once her scent surrounded me completely.
“I told you to stay beside me,” I said against her hair.
“I did,” she answered.
“Not close enough.”
She pulled back and looked at me. “You came.”
I touched her cheek. “Of course I came.”
Her eyes softened, and for one brief moment the entire conflict outside the room seemed to disappear. Then Rhys spoke.
“Alpha.”
I turned. The captured executive aide was being held by two warriors nearby.
“Who sent you?” I demanded.
The man smiled. “You think this ends with me?”
My expression hardened. “Answer me.”
He looked directly at Flourish instead. “She knows the truth.”

Flourish frowned. “What truth?”
He laughed. “Ask Alpha Garret.”

My body stiffened at that. Flourish’s father. Before I could push the man further, Rhys’s phone rang. He answered, listened for a moment, then looked at me.
“Alpha Magnus is calling everyone back to the main hall.”
I frowned. “Why?”
Rhys hesitated. “Because the wedding guests have been told Lady Flourish is missing.”
I looked at Flourish, and she understood immediately. “If we return now, everyone will know.”
“They already know.”
We returned to the main hall several minutes later, and the atmosphere had changed completely.
Guests whispered among themselves, warriors stood along the walls, and Phina remained beside Harold with an increasingly tense expression.
When I walked in with Flourish beside me, the room fell silent, and dozens of eyes turned toward us at once.
Alpha Magnus stood near the center of the hall, his expression severe.
“Damian.”
I nodded. “Father.”
He looked at Flourish, then back at me. “You disappeared from your own family’s wedding with this woman, and now you return with her after a security breach.”
His tone stayed calm, but suspicion filled the room around us.
Flourish stepped closer to me, and I placed my hand around hers. There was no reason to hide anything anymore.
“Father, there’s something everyone needs to know.”
The hall went completely silent. I looked around at the assembled Alphas, elders, warriors, and members of the Stonehedge family gathered there.
“Lady Flourish is not my companion.” Her fingers tightened around mine. “She is my wife.”
