I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 230

Chapter 230 Consolation

Lady Flourish’s POV

The call with Rhys ended with the warning that the eastern army was moving beneath Stonehedge, but Damian did not immediately order us back to the estate.

He stood beside the car with one hand pressed against his injured shoulder while his wolf remained alert beneath his skin, clearly refusing to ignore what had just happened at Harold’s

expense.

Magnus stepped closer and lowered his voice. “You should let the others handle the tunnels for

now.”

Damian shook his head. “Not yet.”

Harold was still standing several feet away, his face bruised and his clothes stained with blood from whoever had held him at Midnight Society. Magnus looked at him for a moment before giving his shoulder a firm pat.

“Whatever happens with Flourish, you already know where you stand,” Magnus said. “You cannot force someone to stay with you, especially when she has chosen another Alpha.”

Harold stared at the ground, his jaw tightening.

“We’re leaving,” Magnus added.

The warriors followed him toward the vehicles, leaving Harold standing alone near the

entrance.

I watched him through the window as Damian opened my door, and for a moment I felt guilty about how much pain our bond had caused him.

Damian noticed my silence but did not ask what I was thinking. He only waited until I was seated before getting into the car beside me, his scent settling around me as the door closed.

“We need to go back to the estate,” I said.

“We will.”

His phone vibrated before the driver could start the engine. Damian glanced at the screen, answered the call, and listened for several seconds before his expression hardened.

“What did you find?”

Rhys spoke through the speaker. “The movement under the estate has stopped.”

Damian frowned. “Stopped?”

“Completely,” Rhys replied. “I still have no visual because the tunnels are interfering with the thermal systems.”

Damian ended the call and looked toward me.

“We’re still going to the residence first,” he said.

I stared at him. “Why?”

“Because Harold needs to deal with something there.”

I understood immediately.

The driver turned away from Stonehedge and headed toward the Virel residence, while Damian kept checking his phone for updates.

I sat quietly beside him, aware of the mate bond pulling at me every time his injured shoulder shifted.

When we arrived, the residence looked quiet from outside, with only a few security lights illuminating the driveway.

Damian glanced toward the upper windows before taking my

hand.

Inside, the housekeeper looked surprised to see us, especially Damian. He rarely came here without a reason.

“Where is Harold?” Damian asked.

“The study, Alpha.”

Damian gave a short nod and started upstairs with me beside him. As we reached the second floor, I heard voices from behind the study door.

Harold had returned before us, and Amber was with him.

The moment we entered the hallway, Harold and Amber stepped out of the study. Harold’s expression changed when he saw Damian holding my hand, while Amber’s eyes immediately dropped to our joined fingers.

Damian’s face hardened.

“Harold,” he said.

Harold’s shoulders stiffened. “Damian.”

Damian took one step forward. “I thought I made myself clear.”

Harold’s fist tightened at his side. His wolf reacted to Damian’s Alpha presence, but he forced himself to remain still.

“You are wrong about Amber tonight,” Harold said. “She couldn’t have lifted that bucket, let alone thrown it at Flourish.”

Amber looked at him quickly, relief crossing her face.

Damian gave a short, humorless laugh. “She couldn’t?”

He pulled out his phone and opened the security recording Rhys had recovered from the club system. Then he turned the screen toward Harold and pressed play.

The footage showed Amber taking the bucket and deliberately throwing the water over me.

Amber’s face drained of color.

“Damian, that video is fake,” she said quickly. “I didn’t throw water at Flourish.”

She reached for his phone, but Damian moved it out of her reach.

“Do not touch my phone.”

The force of his Alpha command made Amber freeze. Her wolf immediately lowered itself beneath the command, and even Harold looked unsettled by the authority in Damian’s voice.

The argument brought Ragnar and Daciana downstairs.

Ragnar’s brows pulled together when he saw the four of us standing in the hallway. “What is going on?”

Damian turned the screen toward them and played the recording again. “Watch it.”

Neither Ragnar nor Daciana spoke as the footage showed exactly what Amber had done.

Daciana’s expression hardened. “Amber, what is this?”

“Mum, I swear it was edited.”

Damian looked at her coldly. “You think I had time to edit security footage just to frame you?”

Amber swallowed.

“My time isn’t cheap,” he continued. “I don’t waste it on people who aren’t worth it.”

Ragnar stepped forward, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. “Damian, she made a mistake.”

I folded my arms. “It wasn’t a mistake.”

Ragnar looked at me.

“She knew what she was doing,” I said. “She waited until I was alone and threw the water on me because she wanted to humiliate me.”

Amber’s eyes filled with tears.

“Flourish, how could you think that of me?” she asked. “What do you want from me? Would you only be satisfied if I disappeared?”

I shook my head. “There is no need for that kind of drama.”

Amber stared at me.

“If you want to make it right, record an apology and post it publicly,” I said. “You will not delete it afterward.”

Her mouth fell open. “You want me to ruin my reputation?”

Damian finally stepped forward.

“You have two choices,” he said. “Record the apology, or leave this family.”

Silence filled the hallway.
