Lady Flourish’s POV

The howl beneath the estate had barely faded when every wolf in the room dropped to their knees, and the man who had shot Damian stared at him in shock.
Damian remained standing despite the blood running from his shoulder, while I stood frozen behind him, unable to look away from the golden eyes that had appeared in the darkness below
“Damian.” My voice came out barely above a whisper.
He glanced back at me, jaw tight, then turned toward the armed wolves surrounding us.
His eyes had darkened with anger, and the scent of his blood had already reached every wolf in the room.
The attacker raised his weapon again. Damian moved first, catching the man’s wrist and twisting it hard enough to make him drop the weapon before driving an elbow into his chest.
Magnus and the others moved against the remaining three attackers at once, and within seconds the room filled with the sounds of bodies hitting the floor.
One of the attackers tried to shift. Magnus slammed him against the wall before he could complete the change.
“Who sent you?”
The man laughed through his bloodied mouth. “You already know.”
Damian’s gaze moved to me, and that was when I noticed the room had gone completely silent again.
My clothes were still stained from the earlier struggle, my hands were shaking, and the gold in my eyes hadn’t completely faded.
Every wolf in the room was watching me, but the only stare that mattered was his.
He crossed the room slowly. “Are you hurt?”
I shook my head. “No.”
His eyes moved over me again, checking for injuries himself, and his expression tightened when he noticed the blood on my sleeve.

“It isn’t mine.”
He nodded, though his shoulders stayed tense.
One of the captured wolves suddenly spoke. “She caused all of this.”
Damian turned toward him.
The man’s eyes moved to me. “They told us she would be easy to control.”
Something in Damian’s expression changed. “What did you do to her?”
“We didn’t touch her.”

Another voice came from the opposite side of the room. “He is lying.” I looked toward the speaker and recognized one of the men who had entered through the broken floor. He was glaring at the first attacker.
“They were supposed to take the girl alive,” he said. “Nobody was supposed to provoke her blood.”
Damian’s eyes narrowed. “What does that mean?”
Neither man answered. Magnus stepped forward, but the first attacker only smiled.
“You should have left the First Alpha buried.”
The floor shook again, and everyone froze.
A second tremor passed beneath us, stronger than the first, and I felt the ancient presence below the estate respond to the words. My wolf lowered her head inside me, not from fear but recognition.
Elara grabbed my arm. “Flourish, we have to leave this room.”
Before I could ask why, Damian caught my hand. “We are going upstairs.”
I followed him. We had barely reached the corridor when Rhys’s voice came through Magnus’s phone. “Alpha, I have something.”
Damian stopped. “What?”
“The cameras at Midnight Society are back online.”
My heart tightened. “Harold.”
Rhys hesitated. “I found him.”

“Is he alive?”
“Yes, but there is a problem.”
“What?”
“They know we’re tracking him.”
Damian’s jaw tightened. “Then we stop tracking.” He looked at Magnus. “Get the vehicles ready.”
Magnus nodded, and Rhys spoke again. “Alpha, there is one more thing. The club has a private entertainment room, and whoever is holding Harold moved him there.”
I remembered the message demanding we come before midnight, and my stomach tightened.
Damian looked at me. “You are staying beside me.”
I nodded.
Less than twenty minutes later we reached Midnight Society with Magnus, Rhys, and six
warriors.
The club was still operating normally, loud music filling the building while people laughed and moved between tables, completely unaware that an armed pack team had entered the premises.
Rhys directed us toward the private room. When the door opened, I saw Harold sitting against the wall with blood on his face and his hands bound behind him.
My breath caught, and Damian moved toward him immediately.
Harold lifted his head and gave him a tired smile. “Took you long enough.”
Damian cut the restraints. “You look terrible.”
“So do you.”
Damian glanced at his own injured shoulder. “I’ve had a busy night.”
Harold looked at me. “And you?”
“I’m fine.”
His expression softened for a second. Then music started playing from the speakers outside, and Harold looked toward the sound system.

“Do you remember this place?”
I stared at him. “What?”

He shrugged. “Nothing.”
Damian gave him a suspicious look, and Harold laughed quietly. “Relax.”
For the first time that night, the tension in the room actually eased. Then a song appeared on the large touchscreen mounted beside the bar. Can’t Help Falling in Love.
I looked at Damian. He looked at the screen, then at me. “Pick a song.”
I frowned. “You want to sing?”
His mouth lifted slightly. “Come pick one for me.”
I stared at him, because I had never heard Damian sing before, and judging from Magnus’s expression, neither had anyone else in the room.
“You don’t sing.”
“I do tonight.”
He picked up the second microphone and handed it to me. “Together.”
The music began, and I recognized the melody immediately. For a few seconds I forgot about the blood, the attackers, the underground tunnels, and the First Alpha beneath Stonehedge.
When the song ended, the room stayed quiet. Then Damian looked at me. “You have a beautiful voice.”
