The lawyer’s words followed us all the way back to Stonehedge, while Harold said little during the drive and Rhys kept reviewing the financial records on his tablet. I sat beside Harold, holding the folder against my lap and wondering which member of his family could have access to the kind of resources now connected to the tunnels.
When we reached the estate, Magnus was already waiting near the council entrance with several elders. His expression was serious, and the warriors stationed around the building had their wolves close to the surface as they checked every person entering the chamber.
“Everyone stays inside the protected area,” Magnus instructed. “No one enters or leaves without clearance.”
I followed Harold into the council chamber with Rhys and the lawyer behind us. The elders took their seats around the large table while guards positioned themselves along the walls, and the old ward markings carved into the stone remained dark.
Magnus called the meeting to order and asked Rhys to present everything we had found. Rhys connected his tablet to the council display and brought up the access records from F-Tech, followed by the credentials used to enter Stonehedge’s underground control panel.
“The same credentials were used in both systems,” Rhys explained. “The company account had been inactive for months, but someone accessed it recently and then used the same credentials to reach the underground network.”
One of the elders leaned forward. “Who owns the account?”
“The employee who was questioned earlier,” Rhys replied. “We have evidence suggesting their credentials were taken or used under threat.”
Harold stood beside the table, his Alpha aura spreading through the room as he addressed the council. “Before anyone begins questioning individual pack members, anyone with knowledge of the shell company needs to speak.”
An elder immediately objected. “You’re asking people to expose themselves based on records that have not established who actually used those accounts.”
“And waiting gives whoever is responsible more time,” Harold replied.
The room grew louder as several elders began arguing over whether the evidence justified suspending the authority of a pack official. One wanted the suspected official removed

immediately, while another insisted that doing so without stronger proof could create a serious division within the council.
I placed my hands on the table.
“My company is part of this investigation,” I said. “Someone tried to transfer my shares without my approval, altered an employee’s records, and used a company account to access
Stonehedge’s security network.”
The elders turned toward me.
“If the person behind this wanted access to F-Tech resources, controlling my shares would give them more than money,” I continued. “It could give them influence over contracts, employees, financial accounts, and equipment.”
One elder frowned. “Are you suggesting your company was used to support the attacks?”
“I’m saying we cannot rule it out.”
Rhys brought up the shell company’s transaction history. The records showed payments for vehicles, surveillance equipment, communication devices, and services that had provided access to restricted areas around Stonehedge.
The lawyer added the documents from Eugene’s network and explained that some of the transactions matched the financial trail found during the tunnel investigation. He also confirmed that one company name appeared in a previous F-Tech contract, though the purpose of that contract had been legitimate at the time.
The council fell quieter as the records continued across the screen.
Then the main display notified us of an incoming secure call.
Garret appeared.
My father looked around the council chamber through the camera before focusing on me. “I assume this meeting concerns the shell company.”
“It does,” Magnus said, “We need your answers.”
Garret’s face hardened. “I have already told Flourish that I did not order these attacks.”
Harold stepped closer to the screen. “Marvolo says you hired him to investigate the tunnels.”
“And Marvolo misunderstood what I asked him to investigate.”
“You recognize the shell company’s registered owner,” I said.

Garret looked at me.
“Yes.”
“Who is it?”
He hesitated. “I know the name.”
“Then tell us why.”
“I need to see the complete records before I explain.”

Harold’s hand tightened against the edge of the table. His wolf pushed forward, and several pack members lowered their eyes as his Alpha pressure filled the chamber.
“You’ve had enough time to explain yourself.”
Garret’s voice rose. “You think I’m going to accuse someone without knowing what they’ve done? I won’t.”
Magnus interrupted before the argument could continue. “Then tell us what you can prove.”
Garret opened his mouth, but every light in the council chamber went out.
The emergency system activated seconds later, leaving only the red security lights along the walls. Rhys immediately turned to his tablet.
“I’ve got movement.”
The thermal feed appeared on the backup display. Several heat signatures were moving beneath the council chamber, traveling through a narrow tunnel that the estate records showed had been sealed years ago.
“How many?” Harold asked.
“Six, maybe seven,” Rhys said. “The feed is losing them whenever they pass beneath the old wards.”
A low growl came from one of the warriors near the entrance. His wolf had picked up the scent before the monitoring system could identify it, and several others shifted their stance as the smell reached them.
Harold moved in front of me.
“Guards, secure the room,” he ordered. “Protect the elders and keep every entrance covered.”
The warriors formed a line around the council table. Their claws came out as their wolves
