I Refuse To Be Your Luna
Chapter 63 Four Days Left
Lady Flourish’s POV
Damian drove us straight to Stonehedge’s most prestigious private hospital.
My wolf stayed unusually quiet the whole way, done trembling but still curled tight inside me, worn out from the elevator.
Davina had apparently recovered enough to complain. The moment the building came into view, she leaned forward and frowned at Damian. “Brother, why are you bringing Flourish to Jake’s hospital?”
“Just because you don’t get along with him doesn’t mean he isn’t good at his job.”

Damian set me on the exam bed. “She was trapped in an elevator. Started shaking, couldn’t stand afterward.”
Panic response?” Jake asked, adjusting his glasses.
Check her.”
Jake gave him a look that clearly asked who Damian thought he was ordering around. Damian didn’t seem
to notice or care.
“What are you standing there for? Or do you just sit around instead of seeing patients?”
Jake muttered something a

Finising
The room went quiet. Jake’s head came up slowly, real recognition crossing his face, and his eyes moved from me to Damian and back like he was doing math. I had no idea what passed between them, but my wolf
ent on alert anyway.
“Could you step outside?” Jake said to Damian. “I need to speak with her alone.”
Neither of them moved for a second, their wolves clearly sizing each other up in the silence. Then Damian looked at me.
“You’ll be okay?”
“Mm.”
Only then did he leave. The door clicked shut, and Jake let out a breath.
“Well. I suppose introductions are unnecessary.”
“You already know who I am.”
“Apparently.” I almost laughed despite everything.
He went professional after that, checking my pulse, my pupils, my wolf response, and when he asked me to close my eyes and describe what happened, my fingers dug into the bed.
The dark came rushing back, not literally, but my wolf remembered it anyway, the closed walls, the light dying, the floor dropping. My breathing changed.
“Stop,” Jake said. “You don’t have to continue.”
I nodded and swallowed. He asked a few more questions, then sat back.
“Your body reacted to fear and confinement. Wolves feel emotional distress more physically than humans do.” My wolf huffed weakly. I already knew that. “She’s fine, but she needs rest.”
Twenty minutes later we were back in the corridor, where Damian and Davina waited.
Damian’s eyes swept over me the second he saw me, checking whether I could stand, nothing more, and I straightened my shoulders anyway.
“Nothing serious,” Jake said. “Just don’t let her get trapped in enclosed spaces again.”
“I understand,” Damian said, and Jake looked unsatisfied with how easily he took that in stride. Before he could push it, his attention snapped elsewhere.
“Davina. You don’t know how to greet people now?”
She stiffened. “Jake.” She dragged the name out like it cost her something. His eye twitched. My wolf lifted her head, sensing a fight brewing, but Damian cut in before it could start.
“Flourish. Still feeling unwell?”
No. I’m fine now. I just want to go home.”
“Alright. I’ll take you.”

Panic flashed through me, not about going with him, but about being carried again. “My legs aren’t weak
ymore. I can walk by myself.”
His eyes narrowed slightly, then he hummed. “I wasn’t planning to carry you again.”
My relief vanished immediately. The corner of his mouth twitched. He knew exactly what I’d been thinking.
“Let’s go.”
By the time we reached my building, the sky had gone fully dark. Davina jumped out the second the ca stopped and looped her arm through mine.
“Brother, I’ll stay with Flourish tonight. You should go home.”
“Don’t pester her,” Damian said, then looked at me. “Get some rest early.”
“You too,” I said, before I could stop myself. Something flickered across his face for half a second, then he shut the door, and the Bentley disappeared into the night.
Davina turned on me the moment it was gone. “Flourish. Don’t you feel like my brother has feelings for you?”
My keys hit the floor. “What?”
“The more I think about it, the stranger it all seems.”
“No,” I said, too fast. “Your brother is just kind. He probably sees me as a junior.” Even I didn’t believe that.
