Chapter 65 Dv
Lady Flourish’s POV
I felt considerably better when I woke the next morning. The weakness from yesterday had mosny faded. and a full night’s sleep had eased the tightness in my chest.
My wolf was still cautious, but she’d stopped curling up inside me every time the elevator crossed my mind,
Davina had fallen asleep on my couch at some point during the night, sprawled across the cushions with one leg hanging off the edge.
Despite all her drama, she’d come the moment I called. I stood there a second, smiling despite myself, then scribbled a note and left it on the coffee table before heading down.
I reached the parking space and stopped. My car wasn’t there. I stared at the empty spot for a few seconds before groaning. It was still at Virel Studios.
After everything yesterday, I’d forgotten the most basic detail.
I texted Davina. Dev, when you wake up, please help me get my car from Virel Studios. I’ll send the code. Then, a second later: I am officially done with that place forever.
I locked my phone and looked up. My wolf stiffened immediately.
Harold stood a few feet away.
My good mood evaporated. “What are you doing here again?”
He laughed shortly, already irritated. “So all those little schemes were just your way of getting me to come find you?”
“What?”
“Did
you really think I wouldn’t find out where you live?”
I rolled my eyes and moved toward my car. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. Move.”
He stepped into my path. “Stop pretending, Flourish.”
His Alpha presence pressed against my wolf, and she raised her head instead of submitting, claws pricking beneath my fingertips.
“Wasn’t it you who ran to my father?”
I stopped. “Excuse me?”
“I seriously underestimated you.” His voice hardened. “Talking about ending the betrothal while stirring things up behind my back.”
I stared at him, not believing what I was hearing.
“You’ve got the double game down perfectly,” he went on. “If you really wanted to marry me, why pretend

you don’t care? Why play hard to get?”
Something in me snapped. My palm connected with his cheek before I’d even decided to do it. The sound cracked across the parking lot. Harold’s head turned with the force of it, and silence followed.
My wolf surged forward furious, claws extending slightly before I forced them back down.
He looked at me slowly.
“Why don’t you join the club then.” My finger jabbed toward his chest. “I’m done with you too. It’s your family that refuses to tell Alpha Magnus. You’re all brave enough to argue with me, but none of you can tell the old Alpha the Luna Rite is over.”
He had nothing to say to that.
“What?” I said coldly. “Afraid?”
For once, Harold looked completely speechless.
“Seven o’clock tonight. Stonehedge Villa.” I walked around him and opened my car door, glancing back once. “Don’t be late.”
I got in before he could answer.
“Flourish!”
I drove off anyway, hands tight on the wheel the whole way to F-Tech.
Cheryl took one look at me when I walked in and rolled her chair over. “Lady Flourish. Did someone get on your nerves?”
“It’s nobody.” I dropped my bag on the desk.
She kept staring.
“Fine,” I sighed. “I almost got bitten by a dog on the way here.”
Her eyes went wide. “What? Did it catch you? Do you need a healer?”
“No. I slapped it first.”
“You slapped the dog?”
“Very hard.”
She looked at me like she was questioning my sanity. “Did it learn its lesson?”
“I hope so.”
She shook her head slowly. “I honestly don’t know whether to worry about you or the dog.” That finally got a laugh out of me.
The office picked up as the morning went on. With Stormbridge officially underway. Rhys had taken point
on most of it.

I stayed CEO on paper, but he’d always run the actual negotiations, and I trusted him with it completely.
Just before lunch he walked into my office with an armful of folders. “Boss. I’m adding both of you to the Stormbridge group chat. All communication on the subsidiary goes through there now.”
Cheryl groaned from her desk. He ignored her.
“Update your business cards too. Full title, department, contact number, standard format.” He pushed his glasses up. “And prepare for overtime.”
A collective groan rose from the surrounding desks. Rhys didn’t so much as blink.
