Chapter 71 The Visitor
dy Flourish’s POV
I watched with cold eyes as Harold pulled Phina into his arms. His entire focus was on her, concern filling his gaze, his posture protective, every word he spoke revolving around whether she was hurt, frightened, or uncomfortable.
For me? He didn’t spare a second glance. Not even one.
Look at that, Flourish. This was the man en one.
The irony almost made me laugh.
once wanted so desperately.
Two ambulances arrived swiftly at the scene. Senior healers jumped out and hurried toward the damaged vehicles. “Over here! Over here, healer!” Harold waved them down immediately. “We’re worse off!”
There were six senior healers in total. Three headed toward Harold and Phina.
The remaining three approached me and the cab driver. The driver was treated first, and after quick first aid, the healers carefully helped him onto a stretcher and loaded him into the ambulance.
One of the senior healers turned toward me. “Miss, are you hurt anywhere?”
I lowered my gaze. “I think my rib might be fractured.
The healer’s expression became serious. He immediately examined my shoulder and rib cage.
Meanwhile, Harold’s side had suffered the lightest injuries among all of us. Yet somehow, they had received the most attention.
I watched as Harold followed Phina into the ambulance. He never once looked back. Not even accidentally.
At some point, my wolf and I had both gone numb.
The healer looked at me. “Miss, please get into the ambulance. If it’s truly fractured, you’ll need an X-ray. Depending on the results, surgery may be necessary.
“Okay.” I withdrew my gaze. I had been wrong. Disappointment truly was a bottomless abyss.
At the infirmary, the results came back quickly. The healer adjusted my sling before speaking. “Miss, the fracture isn’t severe, but I need to place your arm in a cast to prevent further movement.”
‘I nodded quietly.
“You’ll need to return in thirty days to have it removed. Don’t get it wet. During the first few days, sleep with a pillow beneath your shoulder to reduce swelling.” I listened absentmindedly.
“Also, your wolf will help speed up recovery. Make sure you take plenty of moon herb during this period.”
Moon herb. The universal remedy every healer prescribed. “Thank you.” I glanced down at the white cast around my arm. “Can I be discharged now?”

The healer smiled. “Yes. Aside from the fracture, you’re mostly fine. Just get plenty of rest.”

hanked him again and left, my arm resting inside a sling, the test results tucked beneath my good arm. As I passed one of the private wards, a familiar voice drifted through the partially open door. “Harold…” Phina was crying. “I was so scared. I was terrified.” The pain in her voice sounded genuine, after all, Rowan had died in a car accident. The trauma clearly hadn’t faded.
I slowed unintentionally. Inside the room, Harold sat beside her bed, his expression heartbreakingly gente
“There, there.” His voice was soft. “Don’t be scared. As long as I’m here, nothing will happen to you. I’m with you. I’ll stay by your side. I’ll never let anyone hurt you.” His next words made my stomach churn. “If someone has die, it’ll be me first.”

My grip tightened around the steering wheel. “What happened?”
“Lady Josephine has collapsed.”
