Chapter 72 I Hit Her
Alha Harold’s POV
The city lights streaked past the windows as I drove through the quiet streets of Stonehedge. Beside me; Phina sat curled into the passenger seat with her hands folded neatly in her lap.
Tonight should have been relaxing.
Instead, she had barely touched her food. I glanced at her and frowned.
“Phina, you barely ate anything at dinner. You really shouldn’t be dieting.”
She looked up, a shy smile appearing on her face..
“Thank you, Harold.”
Lowering her gaze, she added, “Still, I’ll look better on camera if I’m thinner.”
I sighed.
Ever since I had arranged several variety show appearances to help promote her upcoming single, she had become even more careful about her appearance.
“You’re impossible,” I said, though my tone softened despite myself. “You worry too much.”
Phina giggled quietly, and for a brief moment the tension in the car eased.
Then a familiar ache twisted through my stomach.
I grimaced and pressed a hand against my abdomen. The pain wasn’t severe, only an annoying reminder that my stomach still wasn’t behaving properly.
Phina noticed immediately. “Harold?” Concern filled her voice as she leaned closer. “Is your stomach acting up again? Here, let me rub it for you.”
Her delicate fingers brushed against the fabric of my shirt, and I instinctively caught her wrist.
“Phina.” I shook my head. “Stop that.”
She blinked in surprise. “Oh.”
In that single distracted moment, headlights exploded across my vision.
A red car. Far too close.
“Shit!”
I slammed the brakes, and a deafening crash split the night.
When the world finally stopped spinning, the sharp scent of burnt rubber filled the air.
I unbuckled my seatbelt immediately and turned toward Phina. “Phina? Are you okay?”

She rubbed her forehead and nodded uncertainly. “I think so.”
Her voice trembled.
Outside, people were already gathering around the accident. Someone called emergency services, and within minutes senior healers and ambulances arrived.
The scene dissolved into flashing lights, hurried footsteps, overlapping voices, and medical equipment being rushed from vehicle to vehicle.
The healers checked Phina first, then me.
Neither of us had suffered anything serious.
Just as I was about to look away, my gaze landed on a familiar figure standing beside the damaged cab.
My entire body froze.
Flourish.
:
One hand was pressed tightly against her ribs, and her face was pale. Far too pale.
For a second, my feet moved on their own.
I started toward her.
After everything, she was still-
“Harold…” Phina’s weak voice stopped me. I looked back to find her swaying unsteadily. “The blood…”
Her face had gone white.”I’m so dizzy.”
Immediately, I wrapped an arm around her waist. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
A faint smile appeared on her lips. “I’m fine,” she said, though her voice trembled. “Just scared.”
Then she hesitated. “Harold… did we hit Flourish?”
My jaw tightened. “Yes.” I glanced toward Flourish again, but only briefly. “Don’t worry about her right now. You don’t need to stress yourself.”
By the time we arrived at the infirmary, most of the panic had passed.
The healers ran a series of examinations, and fortunately Phina’s injuries turned out to be minor. Even so, it took nearly an hour to calm her down completely.
Eventually, she fell asleep. Only then did I leave her room.
My feet carried me down the corridor almost unconsciously until I stopped at the nurses’ station.
Excuse me.”
One of the healers looked up. “Yes?”

I cleared my throat. “The woman from the car accident earlier. The one wearing a black dress. How is she doing?”
Recognition flashed across the healer’s face. “Oh. You mean the patient from earlier? She already/left.”
I frowned. “Left? Is her injury serious?”
The healer studied me for a moment. “Are you family?”
“No.” The answer came a little to
quickly.
The healer shrugged. “Well, you should know her arm was fractured. Fortunately, it wasn’t complicated We set the bone and put her arm in a

before discharging her.”
For several seconds, I simply stood there.
I had assumed she was bruised. Maybe shaken up. Not injured badly enough to break a bone.
An uncomfortable feeling settled in my chest.
Pulling out my phone, I stared at her contact information.
My thumb hovered over her name.
Then I remembered my number was blocked. My messages were blocked.
Even my mind links were being rejected.
I stared at the screen as a fresh wave of irritation surged through me.
Why was she so stubborn?
If she had told me she was hurt, would I have ignored her?
Of course not.
A fracture wasn’t a minor injury.
My wolf stirred uncomfortably in my chest, as if certain that this was about to go very wrong.
Phina remained at the infirmary overnight for observation. The next morning, she was cleared for discharge.
As we walked out together, she glanced at me. “Is Flourish doing alright?”
My shoulders tightened. “She’s fine.” The answer came automatically. “Just a fracture.”
Pluna nodded quietly and didn’t press further, Afterward, I drove her back to her apartment. When we
el downstairs, she unbuckled her seatbelt slowly before turning toward me.

“Hm?”
Aace of hesitation appeared in her eyes. “Do you want to come upstairs for a drink?”
For a brief moment, I considered it, then I checked the time.
The office was already waiting for me. “No.”
I shook my head. “I need to get to work.”
Something flickered across her face before disappearing. She lowered her gaze.
“Alright then.”
I watched her enter the building before driving away.
An hour later, I found myself standing outside Flourish’s apartment.
The doorbell echoed through the hallway.
