Chapter 96 A New Kind Of Attention
Lady Flourish’s POV
I tilted my head slightly. “That’s reasonable, isn’t it?”

His face sank even further. “…Fine. But they can’t say too much. If this becomes an even bigger scandal, it’ll hurt the company.”
“I don’t mind.” I folded my hands together. “One last thing.”
His eyes narrowed. “What?”
I leaned back. “Before I was betrothed to Harold, you promised that once I officially became the future Luna of the Virel family, you’d transfer another five percent of the company’s shares to me. Isn’t that right?”
He nodded. “Yes. As long as you married into the family.”
A small smile slowly spread across my face. “In that case, I want ten percent.”
His pupils contracted. “What?”
“I don’t want five. I want ten. If you agree to every condition I’ve listed and fulfill them exactly as promised… I’ll withdraw the case.”
Silence settled between us. Garett stared at me for a very long time.
Finally, he spoke. “Flourish. That condition alone isn’t worth withdrawing the complaint.”
I shrugged lightly. “I know. That’s why everything needs to be written into a legal agreement. And notarized.”
I met his gaze evenly. “Otherwise, after I fulfill my side of the bargain, what guarantee do I have that you’ll honor yours?”
He hesitated. His eyes searched my face as though trying to uncover whatever scheme I was hiding.
Unfortunately for him… There wasn’t one.
I simply wanted what had always been promised to me. After another long silence, he finally nodded. “… Fine. I agree. All three conditions.”
Relief flickered through me, though I kept my expression perfectly composed.

Fainted
I rose from my chair. “Thank you. When everything has been completed, let me know. I’ll verify it myself.”
Without waiting for another response, I turned and walked toward the office door.
The moment it closed behind me, the polite smile disappeared from my face.
I wanted those shares. Every single one that rightfully belonged to me. I also wanted the position Selene secretly dreamed of claiming through marriage.
As for Phina
One day, whether she liked it or not, she would have no choice but to greet me respectfully as Aunt Flourish.
Everything I had once dismissed as meaningless now had value.
Power.
Status.
Influence.
Protection.
None of those things could bring Grandma back.
But they could ensure that nobody would ever have the chance to take away what mattered to me again.
After leaving my father’s office, I drove straight to the farm.
The moment I stepped through the gates, my mind naturally shifted away from family disputes and toward work.
Several workers were already waiting for me with reports on the latest harvest, while the greenhouse manager wanted approval on the irrigation schedule for the following week. One issue after another demanded my attention, and before I realized it, the morning had slipped into afternoon.
I spent hours walking through the fields beneath the warm sunlight, inspecting the moonberries that had just been harvested before moving on to the medicinal herbs growing inside the climate-controlled greenhouses.
Every now and then, someone would stop me to ask for instructions, and by the time everything was settled, I was both mentally and physically exhausted.

Chapter 96 A New Kind Of Attention
As I finally returned to the office, I casually picked up my phone from the desk.
The screen lit up.
Three missed calls. From Damian. My heart skipped unexpectedly.
Finished
I immediately slipped into the pantry beside the office where it was quiet enough to talk before pressing the call-back button.
The call connected almost instantly.
A deep, velvety voice drifted through the receiver.
“So… Did my girlfriend finally remember to check her phone?”
My ears became hot almost immediately.
Even through a phone call, his voice carried that low, magnetic quality that always made my wolf stir restlessly beneath my skin.
She gave an eager little whine before I hurriedly pushed her back down.
I cleared my throat.
“…Girlfriend? When did that happen?”
There was a quiet chuckle on the other end.
“I thought we were already pretending to be mates.”
The corners of my lips twitched upward despite myself. Trying to hide my embarrassment, I lowered my voice.
“I was busy all afternoon, so I didn’t notice my phone. Did you need something?”
“No.” His answer came almost lazily. “Nothing important. I just wanted to check whether my girlfriend had eaten lunch.”
For some reason, those ordinary words caught me completely off guard.
Nobody had ever called just to ask whether I had eaten.
Not Dad.
Not Harold.
Not anyone.

“I… I just had some moonberry broth.”
There was a brief pause, then Damian asked, “Are you dieting?”
I blinked. “No.”
“Then why are you surviving on rabbit food?”
I couldn’t help laughing softly. “It’s not rabbit food. I simply wasn’t very hungry.”
Before I could explain any further, the pantry door opened.
Rhys stepped inside holding several folders.
“Lady Flourish. I’m taking over the land case tomorrow. You’ll probably need to keep going to Silver Moon Pack to-”
His voice abruptly stopped. He finally noticed the phone against my ear. “Oh. You’re on a call. I’ll wait until you’re done.”
My heart nearly jumped into my throat. For some inexplicable reason, I suddenly felt guilty.
Almost as though Rhys discovering I was talking to Damian was some enormous secret. I quickly gripped my phone tighter. “O-Okay. I’ll come find you later.”
Bryce nodded politely before stepping back out and quietly closing the pantry door.
Only then did I finally breathe again. “Damian?”
“I’m still here.” His voice remained calm. “You sound relieved.”
I laughed awkwardly. “I thought the call got disconnected.”
There was another brief silence. Then he spoke gently. “Your employees are looking for you.”l Go finish your work.”
I nodded instinctively before realizing he couldn’t even see me. “That’s it?”
“Mhm.” His tone carried a faint smile. “I’ll let you get back to work.”
“Okay… I’ll hang up then.”
“Flourish.”
I paused with my thumb hovering above the screen.

“Don’t skip dinner.”
“…I won’t.” Only after the call ended did I realize I had been smiling the entire time.
