Chapter 98 His Hidden Mate
Lady Flourish’s POV
finished
By the time I reached the office the following morning, the farm’s financial reports had already been delivered to my desk.
The harvest season was approaching, and every department had somehow found a new problem for me to solve.
One supplier wanted to renegotiate prices after another pack suddenly increased demand for moonberries, while the veterinary team wanted approval to expand one of the healing dens because several pregnant she-wolves would be giving birth within the next month.
Meanwhile, Rhys had somehow managed to stack another mountain of documents beside my coffee before I had even taken my first sip.
“Good morning,” he greeted.
I glanced at the pile and sighed dramatically.
“You’ve mistaken me for three different people.”
Rhys smiled without a hint of guilt. “You own the place.”
“I also enjoy sleeping.”
“I’m sure you’ll survive.” I clicked my tongue before picking up the first report.
Truthfully, this kind of exhaustion was far more satisfying than spending my days waiting for Harold’s attention ever had been.
Everything I handled now belonged to me-every decision, every signature, and every acre of land.
Grandma had spent decades building this farm into one of the largest medicinal herb suppliers in Silver Moon
Territory, and now that responsibility rested entirely on my shoulders. For once, I didn’t hate it.
Several hours disappeared before I finally leaned back in my chair, stretching my stiff shoulders while my wolf lazily rolled over inside me, grumbling that she was hungry.
“I know,” I muttered. Before I could call someone to bring lunch, my phone vibrated with an incoming call from Devina, and I smiled instinctively before answering. “You’re actually working?” she asked dramatically.

“When am I not?”
“You’ve been possessed.”
“I’ve always worked.”
“You used to work while stalking Harold’s
schedule.”
“…You’re a terrible friend.”
“I’m an honest one.”
I couldn’t even argue, and she laughed before her voice suddenly became suspiciously excited. “Anyway…”
I frowned, knowing that whenever Devina dragged out a word like that, trouble usually followed. “What?”
“Have you checked PackNet today?”
“No.”
“You really haven’t?”
“I’ve been busy.”
There was a brief silence, then she gasped, “Oh my Goddess. You seriously don’t know.”
Now she had my full attention. “What happened?”
“You need to open PackNet.”
“I asked you.”
“No.”
“Devina.”
“Nope.”
I pinched the bridge of my nose, telling her to stop being dramatic.
“I’m not being dramatic,” she insisted. “No, because if I tell you, I’ll ruin your reaction.”

My patience began evaporating. “Devina.”
She finally burst out laughing. “Fine, fine. Alpha Damian posted something.”
I froze, my brows slowly drawing together.
“He… what? Since when does Damian use social media?”
“He barely does.”
“Then?”

Fished
“Exactly!” She sounded so excited that I instinctively opened PackNet while keeping the phone against my ear.
Sure enough, there it was-the latest post, uploaded less than twenty minutes ago. There wasn’t a single picture of him; instead, there were four professionally taken photographs of the Stormbridge villa’s living room.
The new ivory curtains softened the dark gray walls exactly the way I had imagined, the rugs matched perfectly, and the cushions I had spent nearly half an hour choosing somehow made the entire space feel warmer without taking away from the masculine atmosphere. Even I had to admit it looked beautiful.
Below the pictures sat one simple sentence: *”Home should finally look the way she likes it.”* There was nothing else, no explanation, no names, no tags, and no location, just that single line.
I blinked twice as my ears immediately grew warm, and Devina practically screamed through the phone, “SEE?”
“I…”
“So the girl decorated his house yesterday!”
“I know.”
“And today he posts this?”
“I can read.”
“Oh, Flourish, don’t play dumb.”
I continued staring at the sentence, realizing it wasn’t explicitly romantic since anyone else would probably assume he had simply hired an interior designer.
But I knew the words felt strangely intimate. Home. She. Likes. Those three words somehow carried far more meaning than an expensive gift ever could, causing my wolf to wag her tail

proudly and declare him our Alpha.
I ignored her, but Devina clearly wasn’t planning to.
“The comments are exploding!” she squealed.
“I don’t want to read them.”
“You absolutely do.”
Against my better judgment, I opened them.

The first few comments had already accumulated thousands of likes, with users questioning, *’Wait… SHE?’*, *’Alpha Damian has a woman?’*, and *’Impossible. Who managed to tame that monster? Someone check whether the moon turned blue today.’*
My lips twitched because, well, they weren’t entirely wrong about the monster part. Another comment read, *’Forget the curtains. WHO IS SHE?’*, followed by, *’I’ve followed Alpha Damian for six years. This is the first personal thing he’s ever posted,’* and another stating, *’Whoever she is, she has terrifying courage.*
I couldn’t help laughing softly, which Devina immediately caught. “You’re smiling.”
“I’m not.”
“You are.”
“I’m laughing at the comments.”
“Mhm.”
“They’re ridiculous.”
“They’re jealous.”
I scrolled farther and noticed someone had even begun comparing photographs of the villa from previous charity events. “The detective wolves are working overtime,” I muttered.
“What did you expect?” Devina replied. “He’s the most eligible Alpha in the territory.”
“I suppose.”
“No, you don’t suppose. You stole him.”
I nearly choked. “I did no such thing.”
“You absolutely did.”

“We’re pretending.”
“You keep telling yourself that.”
I didn’t answer because I wasn’t entirely sure anymore.
People who were pretending didn’t usually discuss curtain colors over text, nor did they ask whether I’d eaten lunch, hand me their private black card, or tell the entire internet that home should finally look the way she likes it.
