Chapter 163

We wouldn’t be a burden to each other.

“Okay.” I agreed.

After reaching an understanding, I opened the car door.”Mr. Blackthorne, goodbye.”

“You’re still calling me Mr. Blackthorne?” Ragnar looked at me.

I looked up, meeting his gaze.

My lips moved; after a few attempts, I managed, “Ragnar.” The sudden familiarity made my ears burn.

I quickly closed the door.

He rolled down the window.”I’ll watch you go inside.”

I wanted to assure him it was safe here, but I simply nodded.

I turned and went inside.

He watched me disappear before driving away.

Cam 1 Grips By Chan

Walking through the garden, I was stopped by a figure emerging from the shadows-Lucian.

I tried to pass him, but he grabbed my wrist, his grip tight.

“Lucian, let go!” I shouted, deliberately loud. I hoped to attract the servants.

But none came.

“Huh.” He chuckled, knowing my plan. He’d dismissed them.

I couldn’t call for help, so I hit him.

He caught me, pressing me against a rock.

I winced, kicking out. He pinned my legs, his fingers gripping my chin, tilting my head up.”Refuse Ragnar and explain to Grandma.”

“Why should I listen to you?!”

“Why? Because you’re my woman! Seren, as long as I don’t agree, you can forget about being with other men, do you understand?” His possessiveness was raw.

Even if he didn’t love me, he wouldn’t let another man touch me.

I sneered, “Lucian, listen clearly. Don’t overestimate yourself. I’ll be with whoever I choose, and I don’t need your approval

“Do you dare?”

His anger flared; he kissed me fiercely. He’d seen Ragnar’s interest in me, and that enraged him. I struggled fiercely; my lips and teeth resisted his intrusion.

His face darkened, and he kissed even harder.

This kiss was a battlefield.

We were both breathless afterward.

My resistance angered him.

“Seren, didn’t you know your identity when you wanted to be with Ragnar?”

He repeated those words, implying I was just a maid’s daughter, unworthy.

Even my pregnancy hadn’t made him consider marriage.

I wasn’t worthy of Ragnar.

“Did you think he was you?” My words sent a chill through him.
