At that moment, Alpha Julian’s gaze landed on a stall selling street food near the lower district of the territory.
He remembered that I loved this more than anything.
His low-profile Maybach pulled over smoothly at the curb. As he stepped out, his long legs and commanding presence immediately drew a crowd of admiring, respectful eyes.
But Julian’s jaw remained tightly set, his focus entirely on the phone in his hand as he dialed a number.
“We’re sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable…”
“Alpha, your food is ready.”
Julian finally looked up, took the food, and returned his attention to his phone screen.
“What is wrong with Chloe? Is she still sulking? Her temper is getting out of control lately. I’ll have to teach her a lesson tonight.”
As he spoke, a satisfied, sensual smirk played on his lips.
His mind was filled with images of my soft waist, my flushed lips, and my eyes when they turned misty with passion.
He stopped the car again and ducked into a convenience store to buy a box of protection.
Strawberry-flavored. My favorite.
When the car finally pulled up outside his private estate, a group of Enforcers was already waiting to greet him.
The Head Enforcer stepped forward, looking like he was fishing for a compliment. “Alpha, we handled that break-in at your safe a few days ago. Nothing was stolen. We sent the little thief straight to the Pack Dungeon. I even gave the guards there orders to teach her a real lesson.”
“Imagine having the guts to try and rob the Blood Moon estate. She must have had a death wish…”
Julian strode inside, one hand holding the bag of food and the other holding the bag from the convenience store. He had no interest in his subordinate’s rambling.
He gave a dismissive wave.
‘As long as it’s handled.”
‘Even if something was lost, it doesn’t matter. There wasn’t anything important in that safe anyway.”
Julian had a habit: he kept his truly important items hidden under his pillow,
He felt that no matter where a safe was placed, its mere presence told people that his most valuable possessions were inside.
It was a rookie mistake.
So, he only kept decoys in the safe to mislead anyone looking for leverage against the Alpha.
He handed the food to his Beta. “Put this in a bowl. Bring a spoon, too. Chloe likes to drink the broth.”
Then, he headed for the master bedroom. He closed the door, pulled back the sheets, and slid out a hidden drawer from the bed frame.
“Thank God. Everything is still here.”
Inside lay a bright red true mating certificate, an obsidian bracelet-the pair to my moonstone one-a territory ownership deed, and a proposal
ring.
These were all things he had prepared for me.
Gifts for the day of our actual public announcement to the pack.
Seeing that his treasures were safe, Julian let out a long sigh of relief and locked the drawer.
He went into the bathroom to shower. He buzzed Beta Carter and said, “Bring my mate here.”
Afterward, he groomed himself from head to toe, even taking the time to shave and style his hair.
He lit scented candles in the room and turned the heater all the way up.

Half an hour later, there was a knock at the door. Julian smirked and pulled the door open.
But the person standing there wasn’t Chloe.
It was Serena Thorne.
“What are you doing here?”
Serena was dressed in a silk evening gown with a deep V-neck that left little to the imagination. The air around her was heavy with expensive perfume.
Julian’s eyes didn’t flicker with even a hint of interest. Instead, they darkened with irritation.
“Why did you come here?”
