I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 115

Sienna completely ignored Finn, treating him as if he were invisible as she went back to eating her food.

The tension at the table grew so thick it could be cut with a knife.

The noisy chatter of the cafeteria faded into the background, completely detached from their suffocating bubble.

Sitting there, Finn felt overwhelmingly restless.

Yet, he clung desperately to any opportunity to be near her.

Glancing at Sienna's plate, he grabbed the sweet glazed pastries he had specifically picked out for her and pushed the dish toward her tray.

"You love these."

Sienna didn't even spare it a glance.

"I don't like them."

Finn's hand froze mid-air.

He forced a stiff smile.

"That's fine. If you don't like it, you don't have to eat it."

Paxton suddenly reached over with his fork.

"I have a sweet tooth. Thanks, Captain Fletcher."

He speared one of the pastries, took a large bite, and nodded approvingly.

"Not bad. Very sweet."

Finn shot him an icy, expressionless glare but didn't say a word.

Paxton stared right back.

The two men locked eyes, neither willing to be the first to look away.

They were old acquaintances, after all.

Paxton had been entangled with Chloe for years, and Chloe had paraded around telling everyone he was her husband.

That he was York's father.

And for all those years, Paxton had never bothered to deny it.

Now that the truth was finally out in the open.

Paxton looked at the pilot like he was absolute scum.

Pulling his gaze away first, Paxton turned back to Sienna, his tone as light and breezy as if nothing had happened.

"Where were we?"

Sienna answered smoothly,

"We were talking about your tomcat. Getting cozy with two female cats at the same time is pretty despicable behavior. He even had kittens with one, yet still tried to string the other one along."

Finn's fork slipped from his grip.

He caught the implication instantly.

Sienna abruptly stood up.

"I'm done eating. You two carry on."

She picked up her tray and walked away without looking back.

Paxton immediately jumped to his feet, grabbing his tray and trailing right behind her.

"I'm finished too.

The two of them left the cafeteria, one after the other.

Finn remained firmly seated, watching their retreating figures.

He simply couldn't understand.

Why did everyone else in the world deserve Sienna's grace and forgiveness, except for him?

He looked down at the plate of sweet glazed pastries.

It was supposedly one of Sienna's favorite treats.

But today, she hadn't touched a single bite.

He picked one up, popped it into his mouth, and chewed mechanically.

It was still sweet.

But as he swallowed, it left a suffocating, bitter taste in his throat.
