I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 136

Sienna slid down the wall, but he caught her with his arm, pinning her securely between his solid chest and the cold plaster.

She rested against his chest, her eyes still half-lidded, her lips parting as if trying to speak, though no sound came out.

"Stay right here. Don't move." His lips brushed against her ear, the sudden intimacy sending a blistering wave of heat through her already feverish body.

At that exact moment, the two massive local men charged up the stairs, both brandishing short, menacing blades.

The steel caught the dim light, gleaming with a deadly chill.

Finn's gaze turned completely predatory; these were the bastards who had hurt Sienna.

The thought made him clench his fists, and he lunged forward to meet them head-on.

The first man slashed wildly at Finn's chest.

Finn effortlessly dodged the strike, twisting his body and grabbing the attacker's wrist in a brutal, bone-snapping grip.

The knife clattered to the floor.

But the second man charged from his blind spot, his blade slicing viciously across Finn's left bicep.

A blinding wave of pain ripped through him, but Finn gritted his teeth and swallowed the groan.

Slumped against the wall, Sienna's vision swam in a dizzying blur.

She could vaguely make out figures clashing in the dim light, one man desperately fighting off two, but her mind couldn't process who was who.

Ignoring the agonizing pain, Finn unleashed a brutal kick that sent one of the men crashing to the floor. He snatched the dropped blade and relentlessly went on the offensive, dealing a devastating blow to his attacker.

Bleeding and terrified, the man scrambled to his feet, and both attackers fled down the stairs.

Their heavy footsteps rapidly faded into the night.

Finn leaned heavily against the wall, dragging greedy lungfuls of air into his chest. The second his breathing steadied, he rushed straight back to Sienna.

Blood was pouring freely from the gash on his left arm, so he pressed it tightly against his side, using his dark shirt to conceal the grisly wound.

He absolutely refused to let Sienna see it.

Sienna leaned against the wall, tilting her head back to look at him.

Her eyes were still red and hazy. She reached out, her fingertips gently grazing his cheekbone. Her touch was startlingly cool.

"Where did you go?" her voice was impossibly soft and raspy.

"It's over now. We're leaving."

He crouched down and pulled her gently from the floor.

His left arm was completely useless, so he wrapped his strong right arm securely around her waist.

She melted into him, resting her flushed cheek against his chest.

When Finn looked down at her, he realized she had passed out.

This was bad. He had to get her to a hospital immediately!

The sky was just beginning to lighten, casting everything in a dull, hazy gray.

Sienna's face was buried deep in the crook of his neck, her scorching, ragged breaths dancing across his collarbone.

Her hands fisted fiercely into his collar as she pressed herself desperately against him. Her entire body felt like a glowing ember, the searing heat radiating through his clothes and making his scalp tingle with dangerous tension.

He forced himself to turn his head away, refusing to look at her.

But he could feel every single detail—her feverish temperature, her desperate breaths, and the frantic pounding of her heart.

Even through their clothes, he felt her heart beating wildly against his own chest.

"Sienna," his voice cracked, hoarse and strained. "You need to calm down."

"Finn," her voice was muffled against his neck, thick with a broken sob. "It hurts."

"I know, I know. We're almost there. Once we get to the hospital, everything will be fine."

Finn was trapped in a state of absolute torment and raging anxiety, relentlessly barking at the driver in English to drive faster.

"Finn."

Sienna suddenly lifted her head, a strange, lucid light flashing in her eyes.

She called his name, her voice as sickeningly sweet as dripping honey.

"I'm right here." Finn was completely caught off guard. Had the drugs finally worn off?

"I love you."

Finn stopped breathing completely.
