Sienna said nothing more.
She opened the first aid kit, took out a syringe, and began preparing the medication.
Pulling Finn's left arm toward her, she rolled up his sleeve and unwrapped the bandage, revealing the swollen, inflamed wound.
An injury like this would never have progressed to this state if they were back home.
Right now, not only was proper medical treatment completely out of reach.
She also had to administer a heavy pain-blocking injection.
As a doctor, this was the absolute last thing Sienna wanted to do.
But at this moment, it was their only lifeline.
She owed Finn another favor; how long would it take to pay him back?
Sienna disinfected the area with iodine and then inserted the needle.
As the medication pushed into his skin, Finn's fingers curled inward and his brows knitted together, but he didn't pull away.
She withdrew the needle and pressed a cotton ball over the puncture.
"Done. But it will only last for two or three hours. When the time is up, you absolutely have to stop."
"That's enough." Finn rolled his sleeve back down.
His gaze had never once left Sienna's face.
"Wait for me." He left her with those three words before turning to head outside.
Sienna hurried after him to the door and stopped in her tracks.
She stared intently at Finn.
"You have to stay alive."
Finn glanced back over his shoulder and offered a faint smile.
"Didn't you say I was too stubborn to die?"
He walked away.
Paxton stood off to the side, watching Sienna.
Her eyes were rimmed with red.
She cared about Finn.
Realizing this, Paxton felt the distance between himself and Sienna widen once again.
Finn located the plane. The fuselage was covered in a thick layer of dust, and the wings were speckled with bird droppings.
He inspected the propeller, the landing gear, and the fuel cap.
He tried the engine, but there was no response.
Opening the panel, he discovered a burnt-out wire.
