I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 175

"Did you find the iodine yet? You're moving like molasses. How are you even an ER doctor?"

The woman's back was turned, her tone sharp and impatient.

Sienna took a deep, shaky breath, quickly shoving the photo back into the hidden pocket before grabbing the iodine and turning around.

"Coming."

She handed the bottle over.

The woman snatched it and immediately resumed working on the wound.

Disinfecting, debriding, suturing.

Her hands were incredibly steady, her technique masterful—the hallmark of an exceptionally seasoned vet.

Sienna's mind was racing with chaos, but she finally understood why she had felt that bizarre sense of familiarity the moment she laid eyes on her.

Just as she was trying to puzzle out the connection between this senior vet and Finn, her hand was suddenly yanked forward and shoved firmly against the fawn's shoulder blade.

"Are you a doctor or not? Why are you just standing there like a statue? Hold this down so it doesn't thrash."

Sienna's hand had essentially been commandeered.

Since it was to save the fawn, she didn't mind the abrasive attitude, though her mind was still fixated on that weathered photo.

Lawrence suddenly let out a cold scoff. It wasn't loud, but in the quiet clearing, everyone heard it loud and clear.

"Look at you two, putting on a show. It's just a damn animal. What's the point of saving it? You'll just dump it back in the wild to get hunted anyway."

He delivered a swift kick to the medical kit, sending it skidding across the dirt with a dull thud.

"I can't stand people like you, acting all high and mighty. What, you think you're the only ones with bleeding hearts? It's pathetic. If you ask me, any beast that can't serve a purpose should just be put out of its misery. Saves everyone the hassle."

His wife chimed in with a shrill sneer.

"Exactly. My Larry was just doing it a favor. You're trying to play the heroes, but no good deed goes unpunished."

Sienna had finally heard enough. She lifted her head, her gaze locking onto the vile couple.

"It's true what they say—cowards only draw their blades on the defenseless. Do you actually think you look tough right now?"

Lawrence blinked, utterly bewildered that someone had the gall to talk back to him.

His face twisted in fury.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Say that to my face again."

"I said," Sienna spat out, enunciating every single syllable, "people like you are stupid, malicious, and nothing but pure garbage."

His wife unleashed a piercing shriek.

"Who do you think you're calling garbage? I'll file a complaint against you right now! Where do you work?"
