"I need to go to the hospital now," Sienna said abruptly. "To get Lily's medical evaluation done."
Lily blinked in surprise and glanced at Isaac.
Isaac cleared his throat gently.
"You two go ahead. I'll make a few more rounds and see what else I can find out. I'll call you as soon as I have news."
Sienna's face remained utterly blank as she gave a stiff nod.
Noah stepped up beside her.
"Sienna, are you okay?"
"What could possibly be wrong with me?"
Sienna turned her attention to the bandage on Lily's forehead.
"Since you've filed the police report, we need that evaluation. You are not taking this abuse lying down."
Lily nodded fiercely.
"Whatever you say. I'm following your lead."
Mercy International Hospital.
To avoid any conflict of interest, Sienna arranged for another physician to conduct Lily's injury assessment.
Once the evaluation was complete, Sienna instructed Noah to drive Lily home.
Lily paused at the doorway and turned back.
"Sienna, are you sure you're okay by yourself? I can stay with you."
"I barely slept a wink last night. I'm exhausted, I just want to rest for a bit."
Lily didn't push it and left.
The hallway was completely empty, leaving Sienna entirely alone.
She stood by the window, watching Noah's car pull out of the hospital gates.
Suddenly, her knees gave out.
She braced her hands hard against the windowsill just to keep herself upright.
The marble was freezing against her palms.
After fifteen agonizing seconds, she managed to stand straight.
She pulled out her phone and scrolled to Silas Hayes' number.
She hesitated for a few seconds before hitting dial.
"Director Hayes, are you back in Metropolis?"
"What is it?" Silas's tone was cool and detached.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but do you happen to know if there was an emergency with the Fletcher family yesterday?"
"Why do you ask?"
Sienna deflated. It was undeniably intrusive to interrogate him like this.
"I apologize. Never mind, I shouldn't have bothered you." She moved to end the call.
Silas suddenly spoke up.
"I'm in my office at the hospital. Whatever you want to ask me, come here and ask it directly."
This time, Sienna didn't hesitate.
"Understood. I'll be right there."
The door to Silas's office was cracked open.
Sienna stood at the threshold, not stepping inside.
Silas looked up, spotted her, and set down his pen.
