Out in the hallway, Finn hadn't moved an inch.
The office door was shut, so he couldn't see the confrontation, but his gaze remained glued to the frosted glass.
Even though the voices were muffled, he knew Sienna was dissecting her enemies with surgical precision.
He didn't doubt her competence for a second. He just refused to let her carry the burden alone.
The second she needed backup, he would breach the room.
Inside the office.
Angeline stared at the chilling smirk resting on Sienna's lips and felt a wave of pure dread wash over her.
She finally realized she had horrifically underestimated Sienna Sterling. She had walked right into a trap like an absolute idiot.
Her lips trembled uncontrollably.
"What... what exactly is your relationship with Mr. Fletcher?"
"That is none of your business," Sienna said, leaning back smoothly in her chair. "Right now, you only have one job. Call Ford Fletcher. Tell him to get over here."
Angeline's lips lost all their color, rendering even her expensive red lipstick ghastly.
"No! I can't let him come here! Sienna, please, I'm so sorry! I'm begging you, let me go! Today was a massive mistake, I'll do anything! I'll get on my knees right now!"
She dropped her purse and made a frantic motion to collapse onto the floor.
"Getting on the floor isn't going to change reality, and I still won't let you off," Sienna said, her tone as cold as ever. "Your groveling means nothing to me. If you want mercy, you should try begging him."
Tears began streaming down Angeline's ruined makeup.
"He... he's never going to come here for me..."
Sienna rose from her desk.
"Is that so? Since you're too paralyzed to dial, I'll just have to do it myself."
Angeline collapsed, her knees hitting the hard tile floor.
She desperately grabbed fistfuls of Sienna's pristine white coat, sobbing hysterically.
"Please! I am begging you! You can't let him find out about the affair I had with Victor Vance! If he finds out, I am completely finished!"
Sienna stared down at the weeping wreck at her feet, entirely unmoved.
"When you falsely accused Lily of being a homewrecker, did you stop for a second to care if she was finished? When you dragged my patient's family and the press into my lobby to ruin my career, did you care if I was finished?"
Angeline slumped onto the floor, a broken, trembling mess.
A faint, icy smile played on Sienna's lips.
"You obviously knew exactly what you were doing. You orchestrated this to destroy us. But now that the tables are turned, you suddenly want a free pass? The world doesn't work that way."
Without another word, Sienna turned the handle and pulled the office door open.
She was completely caught off guard by the towering figure standing just outside.
Finn was leaning against the opposite wall, his arms casually crossed over his broad chest. Despite the relaxed posture, his eyes were incredibly intense.
He was fully decked out in his dark navy Pilot's uniform today. The golden stripes on his epaulets caught the harsh fluorescent lighting of the corridor.
The tailored fit accentuated his impossibly broad shoulders and narrow waist, while the slacks showcased his endlessly long legs.
His mere presence seemed to elevate the sterile aesthetic of the hospital hallway.
