She had no idea if Finn would be there.
The car pulled up to the imposing entrance of the manor.
Silas stepped out, and Sienna followed closely behind.
The massive front doors were wide open.
The living room was blindingly bright, and the shrill, hysterical sobs of a woman echoed into the night.
"Finn Fletcher! When you posted that manifesto, did you even think about York and me for a single second? He's four years old! You just broadcast his illegitimacy to the entire world! How is he supposed to show his face? You only care about your own twisted revenge! Did you ever give a damn about us?"
Ford's furious roar cut through the crying.
"Finn, you have completely disgusted me! If you agreed to play the role of York's father, it was your absolute duty to protect him for the rest of his life! And look what you've done to him! I don't give a damn how you attack me, but dragging a child into this? You're worse than an animal!"
Hearing just those two sentences made Sienna's blood boil with absolute rage.
How could Ford and Chloe even fix their mouths to spew such garbage?
One was a monster who tortured a toddler, and the other was an accomplice who turned a blind eye.
Neither of them showed a single shred of remorse for the actual abuse.
Instead, they were shamelessly shifting the blame onto Finn!
Sienna quickened her pace, nearly shoving past Silas to storm into the grand foyer.
Then, Finn's voice cut through the chaos.
"Chloe. Do you want custody of York or not?"
His voice was terrifyingly calm. Absolute zero.
Chloe's sobs hitched in her throat.
"What do you mean?"
Finn pointed lazily to a stack of legal documents resting on the coffee table.
"If you want him, sign the papers. If you don't, I will take him."
"You... you can't do this! He's my son!" Chloe's voice trembled violently.
Finn completely ignored her panic.
"Are you going to look me in the eye and tell me you didn't know Ford was burning him? Did you ever step in to take a single hit for him? What gives you the right to call yourself a mother?"
