"Divorce? Are you kidding me?"
He immediately rushed toward Silas.
"Silas, please talk some sense into her. A divorce isn't a game."
Silas merely looked at him, saying nothing.
"I know I messed up, but I really do love Felicia..."
"Ford," Silas finally spoke up. "You really are incompetent."
All the color drained from Ford's face.
"But the divorce can wait," Silas added in a flat tone.
Standing at the doorway, Sienna froze at his words.
Felicia was equally stunned, her eyes instantly welling with tears.
"What did you just say?"
Silas looked at Felicia, his gaze holding genuine sympathy and ache.
"You're pregnant, Felicia. Your emotions are all over the place right now. Come back to the estate for a while. We'll discuss the divorce later."
Hearing this, Ford's complexion regained some of its color.
Tears spilled down Felicia's cheeks. She thought her brother had come here to back her up.
She never expected him to withhold his immediate support.
Sienna stared at Silas's profile. She found this man harder to read by the second.
Everything he did had a calculated logic behind it, but she wasn't sure if that logic contained a shred of real warmth.
When Finn walked out of the living room, he hadn't expected to see Sienna there.
The harsh white lights of the hallway cast a glare, and Sienna stood in the shadows, refusing to look at him.
His footsteps faltered.
For a moment, his entire body seized up.
If there was anything left in this world that could shake him and make him feel the terrifying vulnerability of loss...
It was only Sienna.
Finn's fingers twitched. He wanted to walk over to her, to talk to her, to be near her. He just wanted to reach out and hold her hand.
But he didn't dare. He couldn't bring himself to take that step.
He hesitated, his heart racing faster and faster, trapped in the agonizing tension of a sprinter waiting for the starting gun.
That was, until Silas emerged from the living room with Felicia.
Having said that, Silas lifted his gaze and shot Finn a brief look.
Then, he looked away.
The two men's eyes met in midair. Neither spoke.
But they both knew exactly where they stood.
About the partnership, the current power struggle, and... where they both stood with Sienna.
Silas walked right past Finn.
Sienna followed. She knew Finn was standing just a short distance away, watching her.
She could see him in her peripheral vision; she could feel his heavy presence.
The frantic pounding of her heart was a stark reminder that she wasn't nearly as indifferent as she pretended to be.
But she still couldn't bring herself to look up at him.
Finn stood rooted to the spot.
He watched Sienna get into Silas's car, the door shutting behind her.
He remained completely motionless, like a statue.
The night breeze swept past. It wasn't particularly chilly, yet a bone-deep cold settled over him.
