Sienna had never heard that name before.
"Alright, I'm with my daughter right now. After her class, I'll head to the hospital. Tell Sasha to keep an eye on him until then."
Lance Dayton hung up the phone and turned around.
Seeing Sienna, he paused in surprise.
"Dr. Sterling?"
Sienna looked up, recognizing him instantly.
"Mr. Dayton."
Lance smiled and walked over.
"You saved my dad at the club last time. I've been meaning to thank you in person. I didn't expect to run into you here."
"It was my duty." Sienna offered a polite smile, glancing over at Tilly, who was playing with Maya. "Are you here with your child?"
"My daughter, Tilly. She's here for dance class." Lance glanced over at Maya. "Are you here with yours?"
He already knew exactly who Maya Hayes was.
"Yes," Sienna replied, offering no further explanation.
Maya ran over and hugged Sienna's legs, looking up at Tilly with a proud grin.
"This is my mom. Isn't she pretty?"
Tilly stared earnestly at Sienna and spoke in a sweet, childish voice.
"So pretty."
Lance chuckled, a look of sudden understanding crossing his face.
He didn't ask any probing questions, but Sienna could tell by his expression that he had drawn the wrong conclusion. He clearly assumed she was Silas's fiancée.
Sienna didn't have the energy to correct him.
"Mr. Dayton, I overheard you on the phone. Is Mr. Fletcher..." Sienna paused, keeping her tone as casual as if they were discussing the weather. "Is he alright? I saw the news online."
Lance let out a heavy sigh.
"She didn't complain, though. She just stayed behind to help out. Now that Finn's health has taken a hit, she stepped right in to take care of him."
Sienna gripped her coffee cup, her face a perfect, unreadable mask.
"Childhood friends. They must share a very deep bond," she said with a soft smile.
"Oh, absolutely. They practically grew up together. Sasha's loyalty to Finn is unmatched." Lance glanced at his watch, suddenly realizing he was oversharing. "Ah, listen to me ramble. Please excuse me."
"Not at all." Sienna set her cup down. "It's completely understandable."
Lance smiled and turned away to check on his daughter.
Sienna sat there alone, her coffee turning cold.
After a while, Lance took Tilly and left.
Maya bounded over, grabbing Sienna's hand.
"Sienna, why do you look so sad?"
