After declaring that, Sienna went to sort out some basic toiletries for Noah, knowing he would be stuck in that bed for the next few days.
Finn stood by the window, his gaze resting thoughtfully on Georgina.
Georgina felt the weight of his stare.
"Georgina, do you still remember me?" Finn asked smoothly.
Georgina met his eyes for a split second, then shook her head.
"I don't know you."
But she did. Of course she did.
Even if it had only been one brief encounter when she was just a child.
But Georgina was exceptionally sharp. She sensed that Sienna didn't want them to have a shared history, and she wasn't about to sabotage the woman who had saved her.
Finn seemed to instantly read the unspoken loyalty in the girl's eyes. He let out a self-deprecating chuckle and didn't push the issue.
Sienna caught the tail-end of the exchange. A fine layer of nervous sweat broke out over her forehead as she mentally scrambled for a way to explain this to Finn later.
Once they left the hospital, they dropped Georgina off at her grandfather's new place.
As the car merged back onto the quiet streets, silence settled heavily in the cabin. The rhythmic amber glow of passing streetlights washed over the windows.
Sienna leaned back against the leather seat, turning her head to study Finn's profile. When she finally spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper.
"Finn, about Georgina... she actually—"
"Whatever you're doing, I know you have your reasons," Finn interrupted softly, his tone laced with absolute tenderness.
"Sienna, you don't have to explain every single detail to me. As long as you keep me in your heart, that's enough. We're good. You have your freedom."
Sienna stared at him, genuinely stunned into silence.
The car carved smoothly around a curve, catching a flash of streetlamp across the sharp line of his brow before throwing him back into shadow.
"Why are you being so good to me? How could I ever leave you?" Sienna murmured, a casual, heartfelt admission.
But the effect was instantaneous. Finn's expression turned pitch black.
Without a word, he jerked the steering wheel hard, throwing the car against the curb and slamming on the brakes.
He unbuckled his seatbelt with terrifying speed.
Leaning across the console, his hand wrapped firmly around the back of Sienna's neck, dragging her tight against him.
Before Sienna could even process what was happening.
Finn's mouth crashed down on hers.
