I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 74

"I'll head upstairs to change first."

He turned and went upstairs, intentionally keeping his pace slow.

When he reached the corner of the staircase, his fingers tightened, leaving deep creases in the manila envelope.

Once back in his room, he quickly locked the door and frantically ripped the envelope open.

Inside was a stack of documents.

He flipped through them one by one.

The application form, transcripts, and interview scoring sheets.

Every single one was marked with red annotations.

Her grades didn't meet the cutoff, the recommendation letter was backdated, and her interview scores had been tampered with.

Piece by piece, it was a perfectly constructed trap to completely destroy Sienna.

It was hard to imagine just how severe a crisis Sienna was facing!

If all of this was validated, her entire life would be utterly ruined!

He pulled out his phone and took a picture of every single page.

Then, he put the documents back and changed his clothes.

He stood in front of the mirror, examining himself.

His expression was calm, betraying no emotion whatsoever.

He opened the door and headed downstairs.

Chloe was already waiting at the bottom of the stairs.

She had clearly dressed up meticulously for the occasion.

When she saw Finn coming down, her eyes sparkled.

"Finn." It had been so long since she'd had a solo date with him.

"Let's go." Finn didn't even look at her as he walked past.

Chloe hurried after him.

Sitting on the sofa, Yolanda watched their retreating backs, the corners of her lips turning up slightly.

-

Sienna had been dragged out by Lily.

"You've been cooped up in the hospital every day; you're practically growing mold," Lily said, linking her arm through Sienna's. "You have to go shopping with me today. No saying no."

Sienna let herself be pulled along, going in and out of store after store.

She wasn't in the mood to shop. The hearing was creeping closer, Professor Hans von Zale was still unreachable, and she constantly felt like the materials she had weren't enough.

The two of them walked into a bridal boutique.

Finn glanced up.

"It's fine."

His tone was entirely flat, devoid of any emotion.

Chloe didn't catch it, but Sienna did.

She had seen what he looked like when he truly found something "beautiful."

It wasn't like this.

She withdrew her gaze, lowered her head, and went back to her magazine.

But her heart was hammering in her chest, and her hands had turned ice-cold.

She couldn't sit still for another minute.

Lily emerged from the fitting room, saw the look on Sienna's face, followed her line of sight, and spotted the couple.

"Damn it!" Lily's face darkened. "They're like ghosts haunting us. They're practically begging me to cause a scene!"

Sienna stood up, rushing forward to pull her back.

"Don't..."

But it was already too late.
