I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 101

Seraphina Miller lowered her head, tears spilling down her cheeks as her voice choked with sobs.

"I heard that the old man who caused a scene at the clinic the other day was actually a setup. I was just too naive. I didn't handle it well, and now the management thinks my medical skills are a joke."

Her words were intentionally ambiguous, every syllable hinting that Bonnie Hayes had deliberately hired the man to crash the event.

Parrish York's expression instantly darkened.

He looked away, slamming his foot on the gas pedal, and the car sped away from the hospital.

"It's not your fault," Parrish said coldly, his voice thick with suppressed anger.

"Getting promoted to a full-time physician is difficult enough as it is, especially since you haven't finished your residency. Add in Bonnie's deliberate sabotage, and it was bound to go wrong. It was my oversight. I shouldn't have let her participate in the clinic."

He turned his head, affectionately patting Seraphina's hair. "Don't worry. True gold always shines."

Seraphina instantly understood the underlying promise. Parrish was going to pull strings for her.

She smiled through her tears, hastily adding, "Don't worry, Parrish. My paper has already passed, and my mentor gave it glowing reviews. Next time, I'll definitely become a full-time physician. I won't embarrass you again."

Parrish gave a curt nod, saying nothing more.

But beneath his calm exterior, a wave of irritation surged. Bonnie used to be so simple and kind. How had she become so manipulative?

Not long after the Maybach drove away, Bonnie walked out of the hospital.

She returned to Riverstone Heights. The moment she pushed open the door, she saw a pair of men's black dress shoes in the entryway.

Quentin Vance was already home.

Bonnie changed into her slippers, neatly placing her shoes next to his in the cabinet.

Half an hour later, a simple dinner was served.

After eating, Quentin surprisingly didn't head to the home gym or his study.

He wore a high-quality loungewear set, his tall, athletic frame sinking into the sofa as he slowly leafed through a thick, original English novel.

The bright overhead lights cast a soft glow on his sharp, handsome profile, softening his usual predatory edge.

Bonnie quickly cleaned the kitchen, then walked over, hugging a clipboard and a small medical cushion.
