I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 134

In her mind, she was already calculating. If he gave her a twenty or thirty-thousand-dollar commuter car, she would thank her lucky stars.

Quentin rested one hand casually on the steering wheel, his long fingers tapping a lazy rhythm as he spoke in an even tone.

"A million dollars."

Bonnie gasped, nearly launching herself out of the passenger seat.

"A... a million dollars?!"

She couldn't stop herself from giving Quentin a wide-eyed once-over, pure shock radiating from her expression.

"Boss, what exactly do you do for a living?"

"Didn't you just get back to the country? How do you have this much money to burn?"

Quentin glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, a faint, almost invisible smile playing in his deep black eyes.

"I'm technically in the startup phase right now. I have some savings."

Bonnie's mouth twitched.

What kind of startup hands out million-dollar company cars like they're candy?

She quietly pulled out her phone. "I don't know much about cars. Let me look some up."

But Quentin cut her off smoothly. "No need. We're pulling up to the dealership now. You can pick one out yourself."

Bonnie looked out the window in shock, realizing they had indeed turned into an auto mall packed with high-end luxury dealerships.

He wasn't joking. He was actually taking her car shopping.

Her heart started racing, and the way she looked at Quentin instantly transformed into pure, unadulterated reverence.

Sure, her boss had a weird temper, a sharp tongue, and was incredibly hard to please. But he was hands down the most generous, most ethical boss Bonnie Hayes had ever worked for!

Perhaps sensing her intense, burning gaze, Quentin stopped at a red light and cast a cool glance in her direction.

"Don't fall in love with me. I treat all my subordinates equally."

His voice was low, carrying a hint of a warning.

Bonnie immediately reeled in her gaze, pressing her hands together in a perfectly pious gesture.
