Bonnie was wearing a loose, light-colored V-neck tee.
Because she was leaning over him, the neckline naturally dipped low.
From Quentin's uncomfortably close, lower vantage point, the soft, pale curves of her cleavage were entirely exposed, colliding straight into his line of sight.
Luminous.
Dangerously inviting.
Rising and falling gently with every breath she took.
Quentin swallowed hard, his breathing abruptly turning ragged.
In the dead quiet of the bedroom, his strained exhales were impossible to miss.
Bonnie immediately realized something was wrong.
She stopped what she was doing and frowned down at him, genuinely confused.
"Why is your heart racing? Your pulse is spiking out of nowhere."
"Do you want me to set a few more points to help you calm down?"
He clamped his jaw shut and turned his head away, his voice raw with suppressed tension.
"No. My sight is back."
But Bonnie wasn't going to let it drop that easily.
She reached out and pressed the back of her hand to his forehead, only to find his skin burning up.
"You're obviously overheated. Just because your vision is back doesn't mean you're medically stable."
She looked at him sternly, slipping entirely into clinical mode.
"Take the shirt all the way off. I need to redirect the circulation to help you cool down."
A vein throbbed at Quentin's temple.
The suffocating heat flooding his system was genuinely driving him out of his mind.
Closing his eyes in defeat, he finally reached down and untied the sash of his sleepwear.
The fabric cascaded off his shoulders, pooling at his waist.
In the next second, the man's broad, muscular chest and sharply defined abs were completely bared.
Caught off guard by the sheer physical impact of his physique, Bonnie froze.
They were so close.
She could catch the undeniable, intoxicating scent of his masculine allure mixed with the heat of his skin.
