"Since she was brought here, why didn't anyone tell me sooner..."
In this moment, his heart, which had already begun to waver for Bonnie, finally locked onto its most resolute answer.
...
The next day.
It was July in Harlow City, and even the early morning air felt scorching hot.
Bonnie changed into a crisp white T-shirt and light jeans and headed downstairs.
Quentin was already ready as well, dressed in a custom, pure black suit that made his tall frame look even more imposing and cold.
Only today, there was an extra folder in his hand.
Bonnie was still worried about what had happened at the pavilion, and as soon as she got downstairs, she took off running toward the hospital.
Quentin watched her hurried figure, his brow furrowing instantly.
"Follow her."
He commanded Jasper coldly.
The Rolls-Royce rolled slowly forward, pulling up right next to Bonnie.
The window rolled down, revealing Quentin's slightly hardened profile.
"Why aren't you driving?"
His voice was heavy, obviously displeased.
Bonnie stopped, turning her head to flash him a radiant smile.
"That car is way too flashy. Besides, it's not far from the pavilion, so running is a good workout."
She reached up to wipe a thin sheen of sweat from her forehead. "Anyway, I've got to go!"
With that, she sprinted forward like a nimble rabbit.
Quentin pursed his lips, watching her energetic figure run off as the air pressure around him plummeted terrifyingly.
Jasper glanced at his boss through the rearview mirror and instantly caught on.
"Director Vance, if you think it's too tough for Bonnie to run to work every day, how about... I get her a scooter for her commute?"
He suggested carefully, "It's not flashy, and given Bonnie's low-key personality, I think she'd like it."
Quentin lifted his eyes, saying flatly, "Arrange it. Get it done today."
"Yes, sir."
Jasper let out a sigh of relief.
"Also—"
Quentin handed the folder in his hands to the front seat.
"Destroy this contract."
Jasper froze, taking the folder with both hands and subconsciously flipping it open for a look.
When he saw the words "The Matrimonial Term-Sheet" on the title page, his pupils constricted violently.
"Director Vance, do you mean..."
This was the Three-Year Contract drawn up specifically to guard against Bonnie.
