Parrish looked at Seraphina.
Her eyes were completely bloodshot, tears streaming down her face, making her look exceptionally delicate and pitiful.
Parrish sighed, a wave of guilt rising in his heart.
At the end of the day, this was a grudge between him and Bonnie. Seraphina was simply an innocent victim who got dragged into it for no reason.
"This isn't your fault, Seraphina."
Parrish leaned back against the hospital bed. His voice was weak, but his tone was very heavy.
"She's coming after me."
Seraphina looked up with a sob, staring at him in confusion. "Coming after you? Why would Bonnie use such a vicious method to target me... because of you?"
A flash of self-mockery crossed Parrish's eyes. "When her father passed away, I had already regained my memory. She must be blaming me for having the ability to help, yet standing coldly by instead of saving him."
Seraphina paused, asking blankly, "Parrish, you... you really didn't save him?"
Hearing this, an intense wave of hatred surged deep within Parrish's eyes.
"Why the hell should I have saved him?"
His voice dropped abruptly, icy cold.
"Back then, when I was severely injured and suffering from amnesia, lying helpless in their house, I heard her father discussing with the family how to throw me out."
"I was covered in injuries and clearly being hunted. Kicking me out then was no different from demanding my life."
"He was terrified I'd drag their family down. He was completely selfish and didn't care if I lived or died."
Parrish scoffed, his fists clenching tightly beneath the thin blanket.
"Even though he treated me well later on and tried to help me regain my memory, it was only because he wanted me out as soon as possible so I wouldn't drag his daughter down."
"I knew exactly what kind of person that old bastard was. That's why I purposely held Bonnie's hand and stared right into his eyes the exact second he took his final breath."
"I wanted to make sure he couldn't even die in peace, forcing him to watch and know that Bonnie would never leave me for the rest of her life."
Seraphina's heart pounded with terror as she listened, a layer of cold sweat breaking out on her back.
She had never imagined that the usually gentle, aloof Parrish possessed such twisted paranoia deep in his bones.
She swallowed hard, struggling slightly to speak.
"But... Parrish, I heard from Vivian that you're getting engaged to her this weekend."
The hostility on Parrish's face faded a bit, returning to his usual indifference.
