The instant Quentin saw Bonnie, his already frigid, handsome face completely darkened.
Vivian, walking beside him, sharply sensed the suffocatingly dangerous aura radiating from him.
She turned her head in confusion, but just as she was about to speak, Bonnie quickly approached them.
"Mr. Vance, I need to explain something to you."
Her voice was somewhat hoarse, carrying the exhaustion and panic left over from her argument with Parrish.
Vivian immediately frowned, her eyes darting between the two of them.
"Quentin, do you two know each other?"
Quentin's gaze felt physically heavy, weighing down entirely on Bonnie.
"Go inside first. I'll be in shortly."
His voice was deep and icy cold, but he had directed the words to Vivian.
Under Quentin's overwhelming, oppressive aura, Vivian ultimately swallowed her stomach full of questions.
Her eyes lingered on Bonnie's face for a few seconds before she offered a faint smile.
"Alright, I'll head in first."
Vivian turned and walked toward the room, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
Quentin caught sight of her back out of the corner of his eye and glanced at the plaque next to the door, easily determining that it was Parrish's room.
And Bonnie had just walked right out of there.
He pulled his gaze back, looking down at the woman in front of him.
"You went to see Parrish?"
Bonnie's chest seized violently, and she frantically waved her hands. "No, I didn't come to see him specifically."
"Then why are you crying?"
Quentin leaned in slightly, closing the distance, his towering shadow instantly engulfing her, and a terrifying restlessness pressed into his tone.
The icy aura radiating from him forced Bonnie to take a half step back, but she hurriedly defended herself anyway.
"I'm not crying. I was just pissed off by that trash."
