I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 167

Parrish met the man's icy gaze and struggled to speak after a few seconds.

"Quentin... how is your health?"

Quentin didn't walk toward the bed. Instead, he went straight to a single sofa and sat down.

He crossed his long legs, entirely swallowed by the shadows, exuding a suffocating, oppressive aura.

"Isn't my condition all thanks to you?"

Quentin's voice was cool and hoarse, yet sharp as a blade.

"Isn't it a bit too late to start caring now?"

Parrish paled, not expecting Quentin to be so ruthless right from the start.

He gripped the bedsheets, looking somewhat ashamed.

"I'm sorry, Quentin. That accident back then... I really didn't know it would leave you with this condition."

Quentin raised a hand in irritation, cutting him off completely.

"Enough. If you're truly sorry, stop playing these games of convenience with Vivian."

"Marry her and live your lives properly."

At his words, both Parrish and Vivian's expressions shifted.

Vivian stepped forward, looking urgently at the man on the sofa.

"Quentin, you know my heart belongs to someone else. I can't actually marry Parrish. It wouldn't be fair to either of us."

Quentin didn't even bat an eyelid. His tone was freezing.

"That's not a reason to reject the marriage. The alliance between the York and Xavier families is highly anticipated. This isn't up for debate."

Parrish frowned and couldn't help but argue.

"Quentin, my heart is also taken. I can't marry Vivian. Plus, she's already the Director of Pharmaceutical R&D at Vance Global. Even without marrying me, she has a bright future. I don't want to ruin her life."

Whether it was Vivian's imagination or not, the moment Parrish mentioned his heart being taken, Quentin's already hardened face seemed to darken even further.

The chill radiating from him threatened to swallow the entire room.

Vivian's expression shifted, and she wisely closed her mouth, choosing not to say another word.

Quentin tapped his long fingers absently against his knee, slowly raising his eyes. A terrifying storm brewed in the depths of his dark gaze.

"Who does your heart belong to?"

Parrish instinctively avoided his gaze, a cold sweat breaking out on his back.
