The lounge door slammed shut with a sharp "Bang!"
Tobias York's face instantly darkened into a furious scowl, and he slammed his hand hard against the armrest.
"What kind of attitude is that?! He has absolutely zero respect!"
Helena York cast a sideways glance at the closed door, leisurely smoothing out the invisible wrinkles on her dress, her tone dripping with passive-aggressive mockery.
"Tobias, don't be so angry. He spent his entire life abroad. It's only natural that no one taught him basic domestic etiquette or proper manners. It's just a shame because, with a temper like that, he's going to get eaten alive in the corporate world."
Hearing this, Tobias's frown deepened, and he turned to look at Parrish.
"Parrish, make sure you give your brother some guidance. Even if he's useless, he still needs to put food on the table. Keep him in check so he doesn't drag the York family's name through the mud."
A flicker of calculated ambition flashed through Parrish's eyes as he offered a polite nod.
"Dad, I was actually planning on that. I'm going to arrange a position for him at the company in a few days."
Helena's expression immediately faltered, and she shot Parrish a vicious glare.
What an idiot.
She had spent years clawing her way up to ensure Quentin was permanently exiled. Why on earth was her son trying to drag him back into the company?!
Fortunately, Tobias thought about it for a second before waving a dismissive hand.
"Forget it. With his eyesight constantly failing, he wouldn't survive the high-pressure environment at headquarters."
"Parrish, you just keep handling the heavy lifting. Find him some lazy, empty title at one of the subsidiaries. Keep it easy, just pay him a monthly salary and be done with it."
Hearing this, Helena's panic subsided.
Judging by her husband's tone, he had completely written Quentin off as a useless cripple.
Parrish lowered his gaze, masking the complex swirl of emotions in his eyes, and replied obediently.
"Understood, Dad. I'll make the arrangements."
...
Meanwhile, in the luxury penthouse suite.
Bonnie Hayes was jolted violently awake by a rough slap to her cheek.
"Hey, beautiful, wake up."
The flippant, sleazy voice of a man rang in her ear. Bonnie gasped, her eyes snapping open in terror.
The first thing she saw was an opulent, European-style ceiling, realizing she was spread out on a massive king-sized bed.
