I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 241

The kiss was so devastatingly tender, it was impossible not to drown in it.

She even found herself instinctively pressing closer against him, chasing the searing heat of his body.

It felt like an eternity before he finally pulled away, resting his forehead against hers.

Staring at the woman inches away, he suddenly realized his vision had completely returned.

Those vibrant, expressive eyes, her slightly pink nose, and her swollen, glistening lips were perfectly sharp in his sight.

"You feel something for me, don't you?"

He stared at her, his voice impossibly husky.

Her face instantly burned crimson. Humiliated and flustered, she balled her hand into a fist and hammered it into his shoulder.

"You did that on purpose! You jerk!"

He effortlessly caught her hand, bringing it to his lips for a soft kiss.

"But it worked." His eyes were heavy with unfiltered affection. "You clearly care about me, and you even cried for me."

Furious, she scrambled to push herself off his chest.

"Childish! I was just terrified that if you died, nobody would sign my paychecks!"

Hearing her stubborn excuse, he sighed in fond exasperation. Leaning in, he bit down lightly on her lower lip.

"You really have a wicked mouth. Would it kill you to admit you care about me?"

She let out a soft gasp at the bite, desperately wanting to escape the overwhelming cage of his scent and heat.

But his arm around her waist felt like iron.

"Bonnie."

His voice suddenly dropped, carrying an almost imperceptible hint of pleading. "Give me a chance to pursue you. Stop being so cruel to me."

She froze.

Looking into his clear, focused eyes, now brimming with absolute sincerity and devotion, she had no idea what to say.

Rejecting him again right now felt too cruel even to herself.

But opening that door meant facing a hurdle she still couldn't bring herself to jump.

She had survived Parrish York. That five-year nightmare had bled her dry, destroying every ounce of hope she had for love after his betrayal.

She was terrified of repeating the same fatal mistake.
