I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 252

Although Quentin's head was spinning, they were both wearing thin clothing. The moment their skin touched, the warmth spread through his nerves like a fine electrical current.

In a daze, he thought he heard Bonnie asking him softly.

"Quentin, do you love me? If you love me, give yourself to me, okay?"

Quentin instinctively tightened his arms, holding the girl in his embrace securely.

"I love you, Bonnie," his voice was impossibly hoarse. "Whatever you want, I'll give it to you."

With that, he braced his weakening body and scooped her up into his arms.

His footsteps faltered slightly, his vision warping in waves, but driven by raw instinct, he carried her into the master bedroom.

He laid her down on the bed.

Through Quentin's chaotic vision, Bonnie was reclining seductively against the sheets, her collar pulled low, looking utterly breathtaking.

Her eyes were glazed over as she curled a finger at him.

"Quentin, come here..."

But in reality, Bonnie was so dizzy she could barely keep her eyes open.

In her hallucination, the figure standing before her wasn't Quentin at all, but a gigantic stalk of corn.

The corn was slowly peeling off its green outer husks, layer by layer.

Bonnie blinked, unable to stop herself from muttering.

"Holy crap, the corn has come alive..."

The next second, the giant cornstalk fell toward her. A searing heat pressed against her, the heavy weight making it hard to breathe.

Bonnie's eyes welled up with aggrieved tears as she started begging nonsensically.

"Corn Monster, I'm sorry, I promise I'll never eat you again..."

"You're too heavy, you're going to crush me to death..."

But to Quentin's ears, these words morphed into something entirely different.

He heard her calling his name.

He heard her say she loved him.

He heard her say she would never reject him again.

At that moment, Quentin's muddled sanity was completely swallowed by the toxic fog of hallucinations.

"Bonnie..."

He called her name softly, his voice raspy and burning with heat.
