I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 257

Parrish's expression twisted drastically. "Zachary!"

Zachary didn't look back.

Staring at his retreating figure, Parrish suddenly shouted, "Were you behind the people who tried to kill me back then?"

The only answer he received was the sound of fading hoofbeats.

Seraphina had stopped crying. Standing beside him, her face was pale, but a barely noticeable flicker of curiosity crossed her eyes.

"Parrish, what were you talking about? Why would your attempted murder have anything to do with Zachary?"

Parrish looked grim and didn't answer.

Ever since regaining his memories, he had been investigating the people who hunted him down years ago.

He clearly remembered going on a wilderness expedition with a few friends. It was supposed to be a perfectly normal trip.

But deep in the mountains, a group of men had suddenly appeared, every one of their attacks aimed at taking his life.

He had been slashed multiple times and only managed to escape relying on pure instinct.

In the middle of nowhere, he had run for an unknown amount of time before slipping and tumbling down a steep slope.

The severe blow to his head had caused his years of amnesia.

Over the years, he had investigated everyone who went on that trip with him and looked into the York family's enemies.

But all the clues seemed to have been wiped clean in advance. He couldn't find the real mastermind at all.

Yet, Zachary's reaction today forced him to reconsider his suspicions.

If Parrish died, no one would ever know that secret.

The massive disaster Zachary had caused back then would remain hidden from his parents forever.

A cold glint settled into Parrish's eyes.

It seemed he needed to start looking closer at the Xavier family.

...
