I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 274

Bonnie froze, her hands hovering over the pages.

Nathaniel's expression instantly darkened.

He glanced at Bonnie. "Should I let them in?"

Bonnie had absolutely zero desire to see either of them, but this was her master's home. It wasn't her place to dictate who he allowed inside.

She looked up. "Whatever you decide, Master."

She hesitated for a second before adding, "But... could you please keep my apprenticeship a secret for now?"

She dreaded the thought of Parrish twisting the situation to ruin her, but more than that, she was terrified of dragging Nathaniel into her personal war.

Nathaniel studied her, silently weighing her request.

He knew she wasn't in a position to weather a massive public storm right now. If her status leaked, the backlash would be vicious.

People would accuse her of seducing her way to the top, and they would call him a senile old fool. Ultimately, every poisonous arrow would be aimed directly at her.

Rather than throwing her to the wolves, it was smarter to wait until she had undeniable results, allowing her to stand in the spotlight with untouchable credibility.

Nathaniel gave a firm nod. "Don't worry. I know what I'm doing."

He gestured toward the ornate antique divider at the back of the room. "Step behind the screen for now. I want to see exactly what they're playing at."

Bonnie nodded and quickly slipped behind the heavy, carved wooden screen.

The vintage partition depicted sweeping mountain landscapes, its intricate lattice work offering a fractured view. Standing in the shadows, she could see blurry silhouettes and hear every word perfectly, but as long as no one walked around the edge, she was invisible.

Nathaniel picked up his teacup, took a slow, deliberate sip, and spoke coolly. "Let them in."

Moments later, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed through the hall. Parrish York walked in, leading Seraphina Miller.

They had clearly rushed straight over from the Tianxi Hotel. Parrish looked sharp in a tailored suit, while Seraphina radiated delicate elegance in her pristine white dress and flawless makeup.

Carrying a luxurious gift box, Seraphina stepped forward and offered a deeply respectful bow, her voice dripping with reverence.
