I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 74

"Bonnie."

His voice was low, laced with a heavy warning. "Don't throw your life away. Someone with Jasper Ford's status is completely out of your league. He's just playing with you. Don't come crying when he tosses you aside."

Hearing this, Bonnie almost laughed out loud.

She looked at Parrish's breathtakingly arrogant expression.

"Mr. York, you'd do well to mind your own business. My life has absolutely nothing to do with you!"

Dropping the icy retort, Bonnie didn't even bother giving him a second glance as she turned on her heel and walked away.

In the passenger seat, Seraphina watched the exchange with burning jealousy.

She reached out, wrapping her hands around Parrish's arm, and asked in a sickly sweet voice, "Parrish, what were you talking about? Who is Jasper? Why would Bonnie be with him?"

Parrish didn't answer. His dark gaze was fixated on Bonnie's retreating back.

She was heading toward the wealthiest district in Harlow City.

Why was she walking that way after work?

Was she actually being kept by Jasper?

But the investigators he had hired couldn't dig up a single trace of any relationship between the two of them.

A surge of irritation and anger boiled up in his chest.

Without a word, he tore his eyes away, slammed his foot on the gas, and the car peeled away from the hospital entrance.

Seeing him ignore her question, Seraphina's smile stiffened.

She secretly bit her lip, resentment festering in her heart.

But seconds later, she smoothed her expression into a mask of tender affection.

"Parrish, thank you so much for sponsoring this clinic for me."

"I promise, once I'm officially promoted and have higher prescription clearance, I'll definitely cure your migraines."

At the mention of 'migraines,' Parrish's frown deepened.

His headaches had only started after he recovered his memory.

At first, it was just a dull ache, infrequent and manageable. But recently, the attacks had grown increasingly violent.

Every time the pain hit, he lost control of his emotions, spiraling into severe manic episodes.

Truth be told, she absolutely despised the bitter herbs and the mind-numbing medical texts.

She used to think her youth was rotting away in those pungent medicine pots.

But now, she was endlessly grateful her family had forced her into the trade.

Otherwise, she would never have crossed paths with Parrish York.

And she certainly wouldn't have serendipitously "cured" his amnesia.

She had ensured he would owe her a life debt forever, using his endless resources to catapult her to the top.

It wouldn't be long before she became the most powerful, untouchable figure in her entire extended family.

Flushed with excitement, Seraphina hugged Parrish's arm tightly.

"Parrish, you're too good to me. I don't even know how to repay you."

"Should I just offer myself to you?"

She looked at him, half-joking, half-testing the waters.
