I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 84

Parrish had no idea what Bonnie had just done to him.

He only felt an overwhelming numbness sweep through his entire body, sapping the strength from his limbs in an instant.

"You..."

He tried to speak, but even his tongue was too stiff to move.

Amidst absolute shock and bitter reluctance, Parrish slowly closed his eyes. His body went entirely limp as he pitched forward, collapsing softly against Bonnie's shoulder.

Bonnie turned her head, grabbed him by his collar, and shoved his dead weight against the camphor tree.

She fully intended to yank the needle out and just walk away.

But as she looked at Parrish's deathly pale face and the wildly throbbing veins at his temples, her feet felt like they were made of lead. She couldn't bring herself to leave.

Clicking her tongue in annoyance, she turned back and seized his wrist.

His pulse was absolute chaos beneath her fingertips—like wild horses breaking free, his blood pressure was spiking dangerously out of control.

If she didn't force that manic pressure down right now, he could suffer a brain hemorrhage at any second, or even drop dead on the spot.

"Parrish York, I swear to God, this is the very last time."

Bonnie took a deep breath and crouched down.

She pulled out her acupuncture kit and smoothly rolled it open.

Steadying Parrish's head, she pinched the slender needles and drove them with lethal precision into the pressure points along his scalp, temples, and the base of his skull.

Her wrists trembled slightly. She was using an incredibly draining dispersive rotation technique, meticulously draining the chaotic, dangerous pressure from his cranium with each twist.

A soft breeze blew past, and sunlight filtered through the camphor leaves, scattering golden fragments across her intensely focused profile.

She was so engrossed in her work that she completely failed to notice an elderly man with snow-white hair standing on the shaded path nearby.

The old man wore a traditional silk suit. Leaning heavily on his cane, he squinted his eyes, watching her technique with hawkish intensity.

It wasn't until Bonnie expertly withdrew the needles and Parrish's erratic breathing finally leveled out that the man made his presence known.

He stepped forward slowly, tapping his cane hard against the pavement. "Girl, did you pull that man back from the brink?" he asked in a raspy voice.

Bonnie jumped, whipping her head around.

Seeing a stern-looking elderly man, she patted her chest to calm her racing heart and stood up. "He's stable. He'll live."

The old man raised an eyebrow, his tone carrying a hint of scrutiny. "Tell me, how did you treat him?"

Bonnie thought the man was a bit odd, but considering he wasn't at the clinic area and she needed to escort people over anyway, she patiently explained.
