I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 83

Hearing this, the old man who had just been wavering instantly changed his tune.

He slammed his hand against the wheelchair's armrest, pointing at Bonnie and hurling insults.

"Aha! I knew I was perfectly healthy! You little brat, how dare you try to trick me!"

"Hmph! Who sent you? I'm going to sue you! Diagnosing healthy people with diseases—you're absolutely heartless!"

Trembling with rage, the old man grabbed his cane and swung it at Bonnie.

Bonnie dodged backward nimbly, narrowly avoiding the blow.

She whipped her head around, her clear eyes blazing with fury as she glared at Parrish.

"Parrish York, if you don't know the first thing about medicine, keep your damn mouth shut. You're nothing but a disruptive idiot!"

She had finally managed to persuade the old man, only for this arrogant jerk to ruin everything!

"What did you just call me?"

Parrish had never been called an "idiot" to his face in his entire life.

His expression instantly darkened to a stormy gray, and a violent web of red veins surfaced deep within his eyes.

He took a sudden step forward, grabbing Bonnie's wrist with a grip so crushing it felt like he was trying to shatter her bones.

"Let me go!"

Bonnie hissed in pain, struggling fiercely.

"Bonnie!" Caleb was terrified and tried to rush forward to help.

"Get lost!" Parrish shot Caleb a frigid glare. That dark, predatory look was so terrifying that Caleb stopped dead in his tracks.

Parrish dragged Bonnie away without another word.

His strides were massive, his actions borderline brutal.

"Parrish York! What are you doing! Let me go!"

Bonnie fought tooth and nail the entire way, but the difference in their physical strength was too great. She couldn't break free.

Parrish's eyes were heavily bloodshot now. His breathing was rugged, and he radiated an extremely dangerous, manic energy.

Bonnie's sharp instincts immediately picked up on his abnormal state.

His body was trembling slightly, and the veins at his temples throbbed violently with every heartbeat.

These were the warning signs of an impending manic episode.

"Parrish, calm down!"

Bonnie took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain composed.

"Where are you taking me? Let go! I have a lot of patients I need to escort!"

But Parrish wasn't listening. Like an animal losing control, he dragged her down the corridor and pulled her roughly beneath a secluded camphor tree in the back courtyard.

With a violent yank, the momentum sent Bonnie crashing hard against the thick trunk.
