I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 99

Quentin pressed his lips into a tight line, his voice low and raspy. "Drive."

Jasper didn't dare delay and immediately pulled the car away from the curb, but he couldn't hide his concern. "Are your symptoms acting up again? Shouldn't we head to the hospital first?"

Quentin leaned back with his eyes closed. His face was a shade too pale, but his tone was icy.

"No. I just didn't sleep well last night. Head to the office."

He loosened his collar in frustration, not taking this minor flare-up too seriously.

After all, the eye condition was an old problem; it would pass soon enough.

Plus, the frequency of his episodes had significantly dropped lately, so an occasional dizzy spell wasn't anything to panic over.

Seeing his boss's firm stance, Jasper kept his mouth shut.

However, right as the car parked in the company's underground garage, Jasper's phone buzzed.

He pulled it out and saw a message from Bonnie.

[Jasper, I noticed Mr. Vance looked a bit off this morning. He probably didn't sleep well last night. Since he's just started adjusting his schedule, it's highly likely caused by nighttime insomnia. Whatever you do, don't let him drink coffee this morning, or it could easily trigger a relapse.]

[You can swap his coffee for Roasted Barley Brew and add a bit of Spina Date Seed. It'll soothe his nerves and help him relax.]

Right after, Bonnie sent a link to a mobile delivery app.

[I checked, and this shop sells ready-made teas like this. It's clean and safe. Just order directly from there, and it'll be delivered to the office in ten minutes.]

Reading through the string of instructions, Jasper's admiration for Bonnie skyrocketed.

Her level of attentiveness was truly beyond compare.

Without missing a beat, he placed an order through the app.

The delivery arrived quickly. In the final minute before the meeting began, Jasper swiftly poured the hot tea into a thermos, replacing Quentin's religiously consumed black coffee.

Inside the conference room, the executives were trembling as they delivered their reports. The tension in the air was thick enough to suffocate them.

Quentin listened with a deep scowl, instinctively picking up the cup beside him for a sip.

Instead of the familiar bitter, roasted flavor, a warm, slightly tart liquid with a faint barley aroma hit his tongue.

His hand paused mid-air, and he shot a piercing glare at Jasper.

A cold sweat broke out across Jasper's back as he hurriedly offered up his phone.
