I Walked Away Seven Years Too Late But Right on Time novel Chapter 151

Victoria Harper knew her daughter's temper all too well. Going there would only add fuel to the fire, complicating an already chaotic situation until it was beyond repair.

She needed to talk Sophie out of this, to preserve her dignity and protect her family. She absolutely could not allow her daughter to use this opportunity to vent her personal vendettas.

Taking the bedroom key from the study cabinet, Victoria went upstairs to Eileen's door and saw her daughter shoving clothes into a suitcase piece by piece.

Seeing her mother, Eileen threw the clothes in her hands into the suitcase. Hands on her hips, she snapped angrily, "It's no use saying anything. I'm going, and I'm going to humiliate her. I'm not just going to slap her; I'm going to kick her hard."

Victoria stood at the door, making no move to enter. She just looked at Eileen for a long time before letting out a heavy sigh. "Fine, go."

"Hmph, that's more like it. She should be the one afraid of losing face; what do we have to be scared of? Public opinion will be on our side."

Eileen went to her vanity to pack her skincare products.

Bam. Victoria closed the door and locked it from the outside.

"Mom, what are you doing? Let me out!"

Eileen frantically twisted the doorknob and pounded on the door, but Victoria remained completely unmoved.

The nanny downstairs heard the commotion and peeked up the stairs. Victoria waved her off, signaling her to get back to work.

"Take some time to cool off. When you've thought it through, you can come out."

Victoria went downstairs and sat on the sofa, her chest heaving. She felt a mix of intense anger and deep sorrow.

Her daughter was brainless and impulsive, never considering the consequences, only caring about her own immediate satisfaction.

Her husband's mind was deep and unpredictable. After thirty years of marriage, she had his presence but not his heart. And now, he had actually gone behind her back, trying to find another woman to give him a son.

Right before bed, Victoria couldn't help but worry, so she went to knock on Eileen's door.

Around nine o'clock, she could still hear her yelling and kicking the door. Now, the room was completely silent. She didn't know if she had cried herself to sleep from exhaustion.

Victoria knocked a few times, but no one answered. Panic set in; she feared her daughter had done something reckless. She hurriedly unlocked the door.

The suitcase was still open, filled with a messy pile of clothes, but Eileen was nowhere to be found. A long climbing rope was tied to the bedpost, trailing out the window. Victoria's heart tightened violently.

This girl wasn't just impulsive; she was downright reckless.

She dialed her daughter's number, but the call went unanswered.

Victoria stomped her foot in fury and dialed Luke Lawrence. "Did Eileen contact you?"

"She called once. I was in the shower and missed it."

Luke was packing for his trip the next day. Hearing the panic in Victoria's voice, he stood up and asked, "What happened?"

"Eileen snuck out the window. I don't know if she's going to find you or heading straight to Seattle. If you hear anything, let me know immediately."
