Chapter 3
“Alexander, help me! She pushed me hard…”
Right on cue, Alexander rushed over, scooping Abigail into his arms and then yanking me up only to slam me down onto the floor.
“Eleanor! You dare to hurt someone right in front of me?”
“Do you have any conscience left?!!”
“If it weren’t for the fact that pregnant women can’t be imprisoned, I would’ve had you locked up right now to reflect on your sins!”
I looked up at the furious Alexander.
His eyes and face still looked so familiar, so much like the man who once promised me the world.
But now, I felt nothing but cold detachment.
In my previous life, when Abigail killed herself, he saw me as a murderer.
In this life, Abigail was alive and well, and he still believed I was the one who committed arson.
What was the point of staying in this marriage?
I parted my lips and spoke with a voice devoid of all emotion:
“Alexander, let’s get a divorce. If you want to accuse me, go ahead.”
“The child is gone now. I’d love to see if you can still have me thrown into prison.”
Alexander’s brows furrowed tightly, his voice filled with suspicion.
“What the hell are you talking about? What do you mean the child is gone?”
Looking at his expression, I suddenly felt like laughing.
“You know what I mean.”
“Do you know? Just after I saved your biological mother from death, you kicked her to death.”
“It’s YOU!! You killed our child!!”
Shock flooded Alexander’s eyes. Abigail immediately jumped in.
“Stop talking nonsense! You must’ve ruined someone else’s child and didn’t want Alexander to find out, so you deliberately took this chance to miscarry!”
I couldn’t stop myself from letting out a cold, mocking laugh.
