I was his allergen she was his cure what if this allergen turns lethal? novel Chapter 70

Chapter 7

The first time Michael faked a brain hemorrhage and failed, he set up a company under a false pretense.

Then he had Alice impersonate me to transfer ownership to himself.

Using that company, he illegally raised tens of millions of dollars and took out an additional $450,000 loan using our house as collateral.

In my previous life, he left me with a debt of just over $75,000.

Now, that amount had multiplied exponentially.

From the moment he set up the company, I watched each of his steps lead him further down this path.

Even the documents he found to carry out his scheme-I had intentionally left them for him.

Because in the many photos I had of him and Alice’s affair, I spotted a telling detail.

A Swiss estate.

A grand castle surrounded by acres of rose fields.

I had once told him I dreamed of owning such a home, but he had laughed in my face.

“With real estate prices the way they are, do you think you’re worthy of a house like that?”

Then he turned around and bought my dream home-for Alice.

I called Mrs. Taylor.

“Mrs. Taylor, could you have your people in Switzerland keep an eye on him for me?”

She didn’t hesitate.

“Of course. You’ll get daily updates, down to the smallest detail.”

As I ended the call, I was nearly shoved from behind.

David stormed in, seething with rage, his hands clenched into fists.

He looked like he wanted to strangle me,

“You’re still having people monitor Dad? No wonder he left you!”

I looked at him coolly. “He left you too.”

“That’s not true! He said he’d come back for me once things settled down!”

I ignored his tantrum. Meanwhile, the debt collectors had arrived.

They stood at the door, announcing that the house had been mortgaged to the bank and that I needed to vacate immediately.

So, I moved out.

As for David? He wasn’t my concern anymore.

He still had his father, and if that failed, he had his grandparents to rely on.

But one house wasn’t nearly enough to cover Michael’s mountain of debt.

Soon, the collectors were outside the company, demanding payment from me.

“I’m not obligated to pay,” I told them calmly.

“The law is clear: debts obtained illegally by one spouse, not for the benefit of the marriage, are not considered joint liabilities.”

The men exchanged sly grins and stepped closer.

“Feisty, aren’t you? Big words for such a little lady…”

Their menacing tone filled the air as they crept closer, but a siren blared in the distance.

“You called the cops?” one of them growled.

I gave an innocent smile. “Why wouldn’t I?”

Grumbling, they fled before the police arrived.
