Nevin still couldn’t accept the idea that Demi had stopped loving him. It made no sense. Feelings like theirs didn’t just disappear.

He told himself it had to be the pregnancy hormones. Maybe Orion’s little outbursts lately had just pushed her too far. That had to be the reason she brought up divorce.

He believed if he could just keep her calm and take care of her through the pregnancy, things would settle

down.

Once the baby was born, Demi would come back to her senses. They’d be a family again. Still in love. Still together.

Determination sparked in Nevin’s eyes. He wasn’t even slightly convinced that he couldn’t win her back, not if he threw himself into it completely.

“Yes, Mr. Blackwell.”

Joe looked a little taken aback. Nevin usually carried himself with absolute confidence. This wasn’t that.

Still, this was his boss’s private life. Not his business. So he turned around and headed to the legal department.

Their legal team only hired the best graduates in the country. They’d never lost a single case.

Divorce law wasn’t their specialty, but Joe still believed their side would come out on top. It was Nevin Blackwell, after all.

He’d barely stepped out when Rhea came in with a folder. She knocked before entering, but the tension in the air stopped her cold. She said nothing and quietly stepped back out.

Nevin’s in a foul mood. So Demi’s really not coming back?

She glanced over her shoulder and stared at his door for a moment.

A smile tugged at the corner of her lips.

The past few days had been a nightmare. Every time she saw Orion rushing over to the Snow Mansion after school, she thought the brat had patched things up with Demi in secret. She’d been too worked up to sleep.

Only after paying someone to dig around did she find out Orion had been moping at home. He hadn’t gone to the Snow Mansion at all.

That finally let her rest easy.

And just now, if she saw it right, that had been a court summons on Nevin’s desk.

Good. Demi finally grew a brain and filed for divorce herself.

She hung up and turned her car toward One Studio.

Lately, she’d been running things with an iron grip, making sure the board knew who was in charge.

She’d been clocking in over 12 hours a day. By now, she had a handle on most of Snow Group’s operations.

That finally freed up her time and energy to focus on the showcase again.

She hadn’t visited One Studio in a while.

As she walked down the hallway and passed the framed artwork, something shifted in her. It was like her whole body was recharging with new energy.

“M-Morning, Ms. Snow.”

One of the staff noticed her and immediately recognized her. She was the head of their newest department.

That department had been created just for her. Direct order from the top.
