What once excited him now left him glum.

Rhea thought he was just bored and had the staff stop the carousel, taking Orion to try other attractions.
At first, Rhea didn’t catch on. Only when Orion showed no interest even in his favorite shooting game did she realize something was wrong.
“This still isn’t fun.
“Rhea, can we go home? I don’t want to play anymore.”
Orion tossed aside the gun. They’d been there half an hour and switched games over a dozen times. He’d lost interest after just a few minutes each time.
Rhea’s smile faltered.
She’d been bending over backward to coax Orion into playing, and he still wasn’t interested.
Orion found everything boring. He felt an emptiness inside that he couldn’t put into words.
Listlessly, he asked Rhea to take him home.
Rhea watched as the unusually quiet Orion turned to look out the window, clearly troubled by something.
He wouldn’t even play at his favorite amusement park?
Rhea suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis.
In the car, Rhea moved closer and probed, “Orion, do you miss Demi?”
Orion turned his head back. As if afraid of making Rhea angry, he hesitated before nodding.
“I called Mom and asked her to come to my parent-teacher conference, but she said no.”
There was hurt in his voice, mixed with a trace of resentment.
Rhea didn’t pick up on it. She only thought about how this ungrateful brat was still thinking

But Orion was smart. Rhea didn’t dare to badmouth Demi directly in front of him.
Instead, she subtly misled him. “Demi must be very busy, even though she’s not working

anymore. I’m sure she has her own things to deal with. Orion, don’t be a burden to your mother. Otherwise, she might dislike you even more.”.
Orion made a sound of acknowledgment but said nothing more.
Rhea pulled him into her arms sympathetically, but Orion pushed her away. “I’m a big kid now. I can’t always be hugged.”
Rhea’s expression soured for a moment, impatience toward Orion flashing in her eyes.
He wouldn’t eat the food she cooked. He’d been picky and wasn’t interested in the amusement park she’d brought him to. Now when she tried to comfort him with a hug, Orion pushed her
away.
Rhea ground her teeth secretly.
If Orion wouldn’t get close to her, how could she use this to marry Nevin?
Hmph, just wait!
Once I give Nevin a son, Orion will be kicked out sooner or later.
Orion had no idea that Rhea sitting beside him was already fantasizing about throwing him out in the future.
He stared out the window, unable to hide his disappointment. Even with Rhea-who used to be his favorite-right there beside him, he just couldn’t feel happy.
The next day arrived.
It was three days until the court date.
Demi went to the office for half the day. During lunch, she returned to the Snow Mansion.
Tonight Roderick was hosting a gala for her, a reception to announce the successor,
She spent the entire afternoon trapped in her room while stylists worked on her hair and selected evening gowns.
“Demi, I’ve got an emergency here and can’t get away. I’ll celebrate with you properly when I get back.”
Phoebe’s voice came through the phone.
She was on a business trip and couldn’t make it back in time.
