On that Thursday afternoon, Ella and I accompanied Zoey to the mall that was the closest to her new home. She wanted to look around for new furniture and thought she’d get our opinions as well.

We were in the sofa section of one of the stores and we all sat down on separate sofas to get a feel of how soft the seats were,

As Ella bounced on it, her gaze was glued to her phone and she chuckled a few times with satisfaction while typing.

Zoey and I shared a knowing look before looking back at Ella. There was only one thing she was up to: typing another comment under a post about how Margot had walked away with nothing a few hours carlier.

“Don’t you ever get tired?” I asked with amusement.

“Nope!” Ella said without looking up from her phone. “She deserves this and so much more after what she did to you. I’ll never forget it all, especially that slap!”

“Ella’s right, you know?” Zoey chimed in.

Before I could even respond, she took out her phone as well and began typing. “She’s getting roasted in these comments and I’m not about to miss out on it.”

“But you already did that,” I said.

“Well, it’s not enough.”

“That’s the spirit!” Ella raised her hand for a high five and Zoey responded without even looking up from her phone.

Shaking my head, I pressed the palm of my hand down on the seat next to me just to feel how soft it was.

I just watched the two of them with a look of amusement for as long as they were typing. I was the one Margot had slapped and humiliated, but there they were, going that hard for me.

Ella was the first to put her phone away, but Zoey was still typing. She must have had a lot to say.

Not wanting to rush her, Ella thoughtfully tilted her head and said, “I wonder why everything was transferred to Maddox. Tiffany’s a bitch and I don’t like her. We all don’t, but she’s still Mr Aldridge’s daughter.”

“You’re right about that.” I nodded in agreement. “I asked Maddox the same thing and he said that his dad made the decision to transfer everything to him because he wouldn’t transfer anything to Margot. It’s not the same when it comes to Tiffany. We all know she’d do the opposite. That’s her mom. I’m just glad she got what she deserved. She thought she was being smart and now she’s nothing.”

“Yup,” Zoey said as she finally looked up from her phone. “It’s interesting that both mother and daughter cheated on their husbands.”

“We’ve been talking about this since we got to the mall,” I finally said with a hint of annoyance as I got up and crossed my

arms.

They glanced at each other, then back at me.

“You’re right.” Ella cleared her throat, getting up from the sofa and taking a seat on another design. “I didn’t like that one. It’s too hard.”

“Me neither. Let’s see how this one feels.” Zoey sat next to Ella.

Chapter 158

The two of them awkwardly shared their opinion about that particular sofa and I smiled with amusement I didn’t mean to kill the vibe like that. I was just tired of hearing about Tiffany and her mother,

I joined them after they asked for my opinion, all of us in agreement that the seats still weren’t soft enough.

We checked out every possible sofa in that store and there was still nothing to our liking, so we headed out and were back in the long corridor.

It was then that the topic changed to something that had nothing to do with sofas or Tiffany and her mother.

“So, what time are you going to meet Dean tomorrow?” Zoey asked.

“He said we could meet and talk in the evening, but Maddox and I are still leaving in the morning.”

“Aww, how sweet.” Ella gently elbowed the side of my arm. “He’s cleared his schedule just for you. That’s not such an easy thing to do, considering who he is. I can’t wait to meet someone like that. Someone who will always have time for me no matter how busy they are. Hey, you better ask Dean if he’s looking for a girlfriend.”

Zoey snickered. “I’m the one who asked Harper first. You just weren’t there.”

“It doesn’t matter.” Ella shook her head with confidence.

Just as I expected, they both began to argue over him and I couldn’t pick a side. The more I watched the two of them talk about him like that, the more it felt like they had really moved on from Adrian and Aiden.

After walking past several stores, we were now approaching a turn.

Zoey was now leading the way when suddenly, she stopped in her tracks with a gasp, pushing me a few steps back so I wouldn’t be seen.

“What?” I asked, glancing over at Ella as she was just as confused.

“Grayson’s here!” she whispered with eyes.

My mind went blank at the mention of his name. What was he doing there? I hadn’t spoken to him since the night I’d left him outside and went with Maddox. I thought I’d go a few more days without being in the same place as him, but I was

wrong.

“What?” Ella scoffed as she looked at me. “Now he’s stalking you?”

“I don’t think so.” Zoey shook her head, poking her head out from the corner to glance at him. “He’s not alone. There are a few other men with him. They don’t look like bodyguards. Wait, they all just stopped moving. They’re showing him around.”

“Why?” Ella asked as she studied my stiff body language.

“How am I supposed to know that? The next furniture store is behind them. That means we have to go past them.” Zoey’s expression softened as she faced me. “What do you want us to do?”
