Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 756

Felix didn't try to deny it.

He lowered his eyes, staying silent for a long moment before letting out a bitter, self-deprecating laugh. "Uncle Anthony, I care deeply, but it doesn't matter."

As one of the youngest Colonels in the military, backed by a prestigious family background and blessed with striking looks, Felix's life had always been smooth sailing.

Before he met Amelia, even in matters of the heart, he had always held the upper hand. He played the game of romance whenever it suited him, never treating women poorly but always leaving on amicable terms.

Felix couldn't understand why his karma had finally caught up with him through Amelia.

"When I was very young, my grandfather told me about a woman he had loved in his youth but never had the chance to marry. So, he shamelessly forced an arranged marriage upon me..." Felix looked up at Anthony, his voice low and raspy. "I didn't take it seriously at the time. If I had just been a little more serious back then, maybe everything would be different."

His gaze drifted toward the hospital room door, his eyes filled with profound ache for the woman inside.

If he had stepped into her life earlier, if he had known from the beginning how deeply he would fall for her, she would never have met Ryan—let alone Clive. He had more than enough power to give her a lifetime of peace and happiness.

But fate had a cruel sense of humor. By the time he truly found Amelia, she was already covered in scars.

"Uncle Anthony," Felix said softly. "I've missed out on so many years with her. Please give me a chance to win back my fiancée."

Anthony silently patted Felix's shoulder. "As her father, I've been absent from her life for far too long. I bear the responsibility for the suffering she's endured. I have no right to accept or reject you on her behalf. She just lost the love of her life. If you truly care for her, then stay by her side and support her. As for what the outcome will be..."

"Uncle Anthony," Felix said evenly. "My greatest virtue is that I am willing to accept defeat if I lose the gamble."

The implication was clear: whether Amelia ultimately fell in love with him or not, he would accept it without resentment.

Anthony didn't say anything more, simply nodding in gratified approval.

He had never gotten the chance to meet Ryan, the man his daughter had loved down to her very marrow, but he had seen Felix's character firsthand. He was undeniably a hundred times better than Amelia's wretched ex-husband!

"Cough... cough, cough—" Anthony let out a few weak coughs, his frail frame swaying slightly. Felix immediately reached out to steady him.

"Uncle Anthony, let me walk you back to your room."

"No need." Anthony waved his hand dismissively. "I'm not so weak that I can't walk. Actually, Felix, I have a favor to ask of you."

"Name it."

"I'd like to borrow your driver. I need to go somewhere."

"Right now?" Felix frowned slightly, concerned for the older man's health. "Uncle Anthony, wherever you need to go, let me take you tomorrow. The night air is damp and freezing, I'm afraid your body won't handle it..."
