Night had fallen heavily.
A sedan with military license plates parked at the entrance of the cemetery.
Anthony stepped out of the car holding a bouquet of lilies. He casually adjusted his collar, looking a bit nervous and uneasy, as if he were going to meet his lover rather than paying his respects at a grave.
The guard wanted to accompany him, but Anthony politely declined.
"Thank you for the ride. Please just wait for me here. I want to see her alone."
The guard hesitated. "Mr. Anderson, my duty is to bring you back safe and sound..."
Anthony smiled weakly, seeing right through his thoughts.
"Do not worry, I will not do anything foolish. I still have a daughter and a pair of adorable grandchildren."
The guard wanted to say more, but Anthony had already started walking inside.
He had no choice but to make a call and report the situation to Felix.
After listening, Felix remained silent for a moment before giving a low command. "Follow him. Not too closely. Just make sure Mr. Anderson stays within your line of sight."
This whole family was fiercely devoted to love, and Felix was not entirely certain if Anthony might actually hang himself before his late wife's tombstone.
Anthony arrived at the grave of his late wife, Norma. Looking at her photo on the tombstone, old tears instantly streamed down his face.
He reached out a bony, trembling hand and gently brushed over Norma's picture.
"Norma, you are still so young and beautiful, but I have grown old." Anthony began to choke up. "It is a pity that we could not grow old together in this lifetime. What a profound pity."
He closed his eyes, and tears rolled down.
Anthony raised his sleeve to wipe away his tears. He offered a smile to his late wife, and in front of his beloved, his demeanor was remarkably like that of a green, young boy.
