When it was almost time for her to go to work, Luna felt that she could no longer sit around and do nothing. 

As a mother, she could sense her baby’s heartbeat. She could not just watch as her baby died. 

Since Simon wanted to destroy her, she had to look for a way to survive. 

Luna caressed her stomach and whispered, “I’ll protect you.” 

Without hesitation, she got up and grabbed her luggage bag. After picking up some clothes, she stuffed them in the bag. She also 

took the most expensive handbag Simon gave her and dragged her luggage bag down to hail a cab. 

She had not slept the entire night, so she fell asleep the moment she got into the car. In her dreams, she heard a baby calling out 

to her to save it. 

When she woke up again, she found that two hours had passed. The plane she booked had already taken off, and the cab was 

parked right in front of City Hospital 

Standing outside the cab were a group of men in black. She knew these people; they were Simon’s bodyguards. 

Right then, she realized that Simon already knew about her plans. If he wanted to ruin her, he would make sure that she could not 

find a way to survive. 

The men in black dragged her out of the car forcefully and did not care that her hands were chafed. She was like a lamb awaiting 

slaughter, and she was being carried to the cutting board. 

Even so, she kept fighting back. This time, she was not doing it for herself; she was doing it for her baby. 

She was certain that the baby she saw in her dreams was her baby asking her for help. 

“Let me go! Don’t you know that this is against the law?!” 

“Against the law?” 

Simon sneered as he stepped out from behind the men in black. With every step he took, Luna felt the pressure on her get 

stronger. 

Gradually, all of the fight in her dissipated. She hung her head and dared not look Simon in the eye. 

“Luna, have you forgotten where you got the money to buy your plane ticket?” 

Simon was not expecting Luna to threaten him with the law, but he was not afraid. If the law really got involved, he would just 

make sure that Luna stayed behind bars forever. 

He knew full well that she resold medicine. If the police were brought into the mix, he would not mind telling the entire world. about her crimes and dirty deeds. 

However, he did not want to do the 

(moment. It was not because he still loved her, but because he did not want anyone to

Luna was dragged into the hospital. She tried to cover her face with her hair, but her colleagues still managed to recognize her 

immediately 

“Why is Dr. Springfield together with Mr. Zimmer?” 

“I heard that Mr. Zimmer booked an appointment for an abortion at the hospital yesterday. Is it for Dr. Springfield?” 

Since Luna had studied abroad and she was a great doctor, she was quite famous in the hospital. Her colleagues were impressed 

by her, and her patients respected her. 

Unfortunately, after today, news of her getting an abortion because she was someone’s mistress would go out. 

All the things she had gained after years of hard work would go to waste, and it was all because she did one wrong thing! 

“Simon, for the sake of our past, I’m begging you to spare me!” 

It was all to prove to Bertha that she was the one who had seduced him; he was not in the wrong. 

Luna admitted that she did seduce him, but Simon also had the chance to reject her. Even so, he never did. 

Right after the anesthetics‘ effects dissipated, a woman suddenly kicked the door to her ward open. She stood before the group of 

people and stared at Luna in disdain. 

Luna recognized her as her father’s legitimate wife. 

“I wasn’t expecting that old fart to still keep you around, you unwanted brat.” 

The woman slapped her twice the moment she saw her, and Luna bled from it. Despite this, the woman did not spare her. She grabbed her hair and started yelling at her, “You truly are your mother’s seed! You seduce married men too! You’re just as cheap 

as she is! 

“Because you seduced Mr. Zimmer and drove Mrs. Zimmer away, Mr. Zimmer wants to ruin our family business now. 

“You should just die, you witch!” 

Luna was beaten to an inch of her life. Her blood soaked through her patient’s gown before the nurse came in to pull them apart. When the nurse dressed Luna’s wounds, she spat at her and poured antiseptic on her wounds to put her in as much pain as possible. 

“I never knew that you were such a dirty person, Dr. Springfield. 

“I sure am unlucky to have met you. 

“You tried to climb up the social ladder for money, right? You must have been so happy when you got the money. But did you ever think that this would happen to you?” 

During the three days that Luna stayed in the hospital, she was tormented each day. She could not even sleep well at night 

because the male caretaker would harass her. 

Luna broke down and sent Simon a message. 

[Is this what you wanted? You got your wish, Simon] 

Night fell, and she packed her things. Despite her injuries, she sneaked out of the hospital.
